This feeling. I don't like it; It's a disgusting feeling. I want them both dead ...
I'm numb. It's so cold.
I woke up gasping for air as if I was starved, I stopped hyperventilating when the dizziness caught up with me. I began to calm down and realised that I wasn't in my room, where am I?
Oh right ... I crashed my car. I must be in the hospital then.
I mustered all my strength to move my fingers, soon my whole body was waking up and I could position my arms to pull my torso up, resting in a sitting position.
A ringing sensation flowed through my body, the morning sunlight pierced my head, I held my hand up to the window to shadow my head.
I began to study my hand, my nails were painted a dusty rose colour and not the deep red I remembered putting on the other night. My eyes widened in shock, what's this?
I was wearing a gold wedding band and a Harry Winston engagement ring, I couldn't recall ever owning jewellery like this - but then again my memory of last night was still fuzzy.
I groaned in pain again as my head kept throbbing as I tried to recall that night, the last thing I can remember is those two ...
The door abruptly opened, in walked a tall man that I had never seen before. He didn't look like a doctor as he was too excited that I was awake.
"Addy!" He exclaimed as he sat down next to my bed grasping both my hands. I couldn't think of much other than that he was handsome, his suit looked expensive, maybe Armani? But what I couldn't figure out was why he was so happy that I was awake.
'Ahhh' I realised why he was so happy, I retracted my hands from his grasp before talking.
"You must be the guy I hit" his smile vanished completely, "oh sorry, was that a bad thing to blurt out? Don't worry I'm rich, I can pay any of your hospital bills as long as you don't talk to any reporters about this incident. Did my parents already talk to you about this though? Do you know where they are."
I couldn't read why he was so upset with my words, maybe he's upset that I painted him out as a gold-digger? "Sorry if my words were harsh, I didn't mean to make you upset, I don't think that you staged this accident. Actually I was a little drunk ..." I trailed off looking at his composure seeming to get colder.
"Addy" he spoke in a stuttering tone, I nodded - still smiling incase he paints me out as a trust fund DUI brat before I even got into college.
"I like strangers to call me Addison though" I mumbled before shutting up incase I made the situation worse. However that sentence seemed to set off the man, he grabbed my hands once more "strangers? What are you saying? Do you not recognise me!" He spoke in a desperate tone, I squealed trying to get free from his grasp "do I need to know who you are? I've tried to be courteous towards you but if you keep this up I'll call security."
He unhanded me immediately and ran his hands through his hair, curling up in the chair away from me. I looked at his left hand as it was in my view, he had the same ring I had on.
Before I could ask any questions the hospital door flung open, in ran in my mother in tears, wrapping her arms around me. "Thank God you're safe Addy!" I stroked her back, feeling completely safe.
In walked my father smiling and wiping away some tears, another boy also walked in hugging at the door looking out of breath. "It's okay mom, I'm fine." She broke the hug and caressed my face in her hand as she stroked her thumb across my cheek to get rid of my tears.
"You stupid girl, I told you not to drive again!" She said playfully trying to regain her composure, I frowned in confusion "when? You mean that time I hit that pole?" She backed away from my bed abit whilst still holding my hands.
"What are you talking about? Of course not! I'm talking about when you got in that accident six years ago on your graduation!" My eyes widened and then I smiled thinking this was all a joke they were playing on me for wreaking the car.
"Isn't it a bit early for joking about that? I know I totalled my car but I'm not even out of the hospital yet. I couldn't drive when I was 12 how would I have been in an accident for driving back then."
My mom let go of my hands and took a couple steps back, shock completely over her face.
"What's going on? You're taking this joke a bit to far now."My mom stuttered "A-addy, how old are you?"
I gave her a weird look "do you not remember your daughters birthday? Of course I'm 18, I crashed my car yesterday going back home after my graduation party, or maybe I was asleep for longer?"
My parents both looked over to the guy sitting my bedside on my left, he looked like all of the life was drained out of his body.
"Teddy" the boy by my dad said in a shaky tone, I looked at him closer, he looked way older but that must be my little brother he even called me Teddy.
I looked at my parents and the man sitting beside me again, I began to feel uneasy "mom ... what's going on I'm scared." My voice became hearse.
"Sweetie", she grabbed my hands again, years beginning to fall again "you're 24 not 18, that accident was six years ago."
What!
