I crossed my arms and tapped my foot on the ground awaiting his answer. He just sat there trying to collect his thoughts, before he could says anything Lyn opened the office door. "Oh sorry are you two talking about something?" She asked.
"No were not" I blurted out, mr Reed looked over to me, Lyn looked at us both trying to figure out what was happening and decided to speak "I was just here to tell Ezra that Freddy and his manager are here to sign the contract."
"Lyn" I got her attention, "you're not joining that meeting are you?" She shook her head, "then let's leave together." I quickly walked over to her and interlocked our arms.
"What's happening?" She asked me as we walked away, I rolled my eyes "nothing really, can I stay at yours tonight? I feel like if I stayed at his tonight I'll do something I might regret." She agreed and we both left work as her shift had just ended.
"What's going on then with you and Ezra?" She asked me once we sat down in her apartment.
I sighed "I went to get Mr Reed some food and ran into James at the coffee shop, I told him to stop talking to me, I went back to the office and told Mr Reed that I ran into my ex again."
Lyn nodded, urging me to keep talking. "He said that I could talk to him if I wanted to for a sense of familiarity, I asked him if he wanted me to talk to him and he didn't respond." I huffed.
"Is that where I came in?" She asked and I nodded, Lyn pondered before she replied to my statement.
"Ezra's like that, he didn't mean for it to come off the way it sounded. But his mom left him, he had to fend for himself and grow up. He didn't have the luxury to trust women in close relationships again, that was until he fell in love with you. I guess he wants you to be as happy as you made him, he trusts you." I pouted as I realised she was right.
"He must realise that I don't get that, I don't remember any of that happening." Lyn got up to grab a bottle of wine and two glasses. "Here I know Ezra said you shouldn't drink but I feel like a couple glasses should be fine."
I smiled at her as she handed me a glass, "it must be weird living with a stranger thinking that you're only eighteen." She asked me.
"I guess I just decided to accept it, at first I thought that this was all a dream. But after I met James again and seeing how he's aged, I'm beginning to realise that this is all real." I downed my glass of wine and poured myself another one.
"So are you going to speak to your ex again?" I violently shook my head, "I don't want to speak to him again, especially after how he hurt me." Lyn etched closer to me.
"Then why didn't you tell Ezra that? He's a guy he doesn't know how to play mind games." I pouted, finishing my second glass "I don't know, I'm confused these days."
Lyn smirked at me "so you like him?" I looked over to her "like who?" She rolled her eyes "Ezra obviously!" I gasped "he's married!" Lyn rolled her eyes once more "to you! What's wrong with liking your husband?"
I shook my head laughing at her statement "I'm eighteen! Even if I did hypothetically like him, he's mentally ten years older than me of course he wouldn't like a teenager." Lyn smirked at me "you didn't deny that you like him, stop making up excuses."
I shook my head again "we've only two eachother for less than three months." Lyn seemed to be tired of my circling and replied with "didn't you kiss James on the first day you met?" Which rendered me speechless.
"Look Ezra likes you already, just because you lost your memories six years ago but you still had some of the same mannerisms as old you, you didn't become a new person overnight. You're not eighteen anymore you're twenty four and married, Ezra won't make a first move so that means you have to." My whole face turned red.
"Is it okay for me to like him? I hardly know anything about him. It was easy to like James as he was a simple person, Ezra is complex and I can't read him." Lyn smiled at me, "to be eighteen again, you don't need to read his emotions to make a move, lay out all of your cards on the table."
I blushed even more "okay maybe I do have a teeny little crush on him" I murmured as Lyn giggled.
Someone was knocking at Lyn's door, so I went to open the door as she was grabbing some food.
"Who is it." My smile turned to shock as I realised who was at the door.
Ezra was standing there panting, looking like he had just run up the stairs to Lyn's apartment on the fourteenth floor.
He looked at me with his stupid eyes and regained his composure.
My face is probably vermillion by now, and all I could think of was how I just admitted that I had a little tiny crush on my husband. The man right in front of me.
