After that day we had a lot of long talks that all meshed into one outcome - I could work until I didn't want to anymore. However I have to stay in the office unless Ezra accompanies me, as apparently I could be struck by a flying golf club, or I could be abducted? Basically LA is now a Brooklyn.I get where he's coming from even if his situations are very left wing, after all he's already lost so much of his family - including me before. And now he has two people he could easily lose if he takes his eye off of me for a second.
I get that, but having me work on his couch in his office as he has video meetings is a bit much. Still I get to do what I love - and the view isn't too bad either.
The first month was probably the hardest to adjust to, between only helping out Kelton with his backgrounds, Ezra giving me a new pregnancy supplement to try everyday and my morning sickness, I haven't really had time to myself.
But by the time my first trimester ended and I was finally out of the 'unsafe' time Ezra finally gave me some wriggle room, I was finally allowed to go to cafes to eat again. Honestly the highlight of my day now is lunch time.
"Are you okay?" Kelton asked me as we ate in one of the nearby cafes, I nodded "I just have a bit of heartburn, apparently it's very common." I added before I drank my water, "atleast your skin looks amazing, you couldn't even get that type of glow with surgery." Kelton expressed, I think to cheer me up.
"You don't look pregnant yet though, how far along are you now?" Lyn asked, she's been making more of an effort recently to be normal around me. I don't really mind, but it's nice that's she's putting in the effort to not blatantly stare at my stomach now.
"It's fifteen weeks now, but I don't really feel pregnant, it just feels like I have to pee a lot now and have a cold." I answered, there is also Ezra babying me every time he can - but it embarrasses me more than it would him so I'll leave that part out.
"When are you supposed to expand?" Lyn blurted our before going completely red in embarrassment realising that she could've phrased it a bit better. I laughed it off as it was kind of like a compliment right now.
"I'm not even four months pregnant yet, I don't think I'll look noticeably pregnant for another month or so. I'm kind of sad, I've already bought a bunch of Dior maternity dresses, it's the one thing I've been really looking forward to." I mumbled as I finished off my pasta.
"When do you find out the sex of the baby?" Lyn asked, trying to redeem herself from her last question, "we have a doctors appointment in two weeks, but we're not sure if we should find out."
Kelton nodded "if you want a color scheme for your nursery, just hold up different colors in front of the baby. Use the colors that the child doesn't cry at!" He enthusiastically added, "babies are colorblind though, how would that work?" I sarcastically responded.
Lyn got a call of a sudden and walked away, when she came back she groaned. "What's wrong?" Kelton asked her. "Ugh, one of the interns forgot to order the silk for my project. So now I have to go downtown and do a two person job as all of the interns are busy!" She exclaimed.
"I can help you, I just have to read you your list right? It should be fine." Lyn grabbed my hands and her eyes lit up once I offered my help. Lyn nodded profusely and do we left in an Uber to the silk warehouse.
"Thank you Addy, but Ezra might be really mad at me, after all you've just been able to leave his office." She mumbled, I rolled my eyes "don't worry about it, I'll just say that I'm taking a long lunch break and he'll have no idea!" I beamed.
We got back in the Uber and as the cat stopped at a red light a car rammed in the back of the car we were in. I would say rammed, more like lightly bumped, but we could clearly feel the shockwaves.
"Are you okay!" Lyn exclaimed at me, I nodded - of course I would be, who wouldn't. I was fine but why did I hear Lily's voice so clearly after the impact? It's been a while since I thought about the past.
But why was lily screaming at my in my head? She never raised her voice like that at me before, was my head making this up?
I mean I guess I've gone crazy, I'm actually wearing a seasonal Chanel bag right now and not a classic or vintage. What's wrong with my fashion gut?!
I threw away the bag to a charity shop after the accident as it's probably bad luck and went back to my desk, obviously not telling Ezra as he would throw a fit.
My head still was hurting though, it was a weird ringing sensation that seemed to permeate all throughout my body.
Maybe it was just baby jitters after that happened?
