We went back to work the next day, starting out on a fresh boring Monday. Lyn was cooped up focusing solely on her CD designs for James, as her intern I tried to help her but after being yelled at I decided to leave the room.

"Don't take it seriously, you don't remember but Lyn gets like this when she's working on an important project." I turned around to see Kelton standing by the door I just shut.

"Do you want to grab some lunch?" I asked him and he agreed.

"How did you start working for Ezra? I know that him and Lyn met at college and Ezra was probably doing community service when he hired Dave." I questioned as our pasta arrived.

"Actually I was working as a company photographer when we met. My company was designing Ezra's office and I took pictures before construction to save legal fees, I got the job through connections as I kept adding details to the pictures which kept getting me in trouble." Kelton stopped talking to take a bit of his food.

"Anyway, Ezra saw my pictures as they had to use them in the contract and he was impressed, I studied photography but some of my course inter-lapped with graphic design so he hired me." I nodded.

"Did you always want to work in photography?" I asked him another question, he shook his head laughing "I guess I liked it, but when I was applying for universities in sixth form, I found out that my first boyfriend was cheating on me with his drug dealer, so I decided to sleep with his mum to get back at him. She liked me taking photos of her and said that they were good, so I made a portfolio out of that and showed unis and my ex. I miss being a teenager." He reminisced as he kept eating his pasta.

I sat there shocked, "so are you dating anyone now?" I asked trying to change the subject, Kelton shook his head "I've had a couple relationships since I moved here, but Americans are so vapid and light-weighted, atleast here." He replied.

"So are you going to move back to London?" I queried, Kelton shook his head "I make good money here and rent is a lot cheaper, if Ezra made me a head of one of his branches maybe, but the people are interesting here. I can't tell you how many people I've met that cling to fame from being an extra in one episode of a 30 season show." He smirked.

Kelton was definitely interesting, I liked his fashion style, it was too bold for me to pull off but his bright red hair didn't exactly scream muted like I do.

"Do you know if Lyn is dating anyone?" I asked, last time we talked at her place she said that she was having an accidental affair, maybe that might've scarred her. "No I don't think so, I think she used to have a thing for Dave in our team but I think she's still single." My eyes widened in disbelief. Sure Dave was okay looking, but the devil comes in many forms and I can't let Lyn fall for someone that doesn't know designers.

"Can I ask you one more question?" I asked Kelton before we finished our meals, "what is Ezra like?" It was something that's always on my mind, this man I can't read who is stubborn like a child at times but then again seems like the most mature man on the planet.

"Hmm, he's a robot I guess. But that's something that would happen to anyone if their company blew up almost overnight, he had to work extra hard so that he doesn't let people down. I think he needs to realise that people won't leave him if he gets close to him." I smiled at kelton, he has a lot of wisdom for someone that slept with his ex boyfriends mom.

I got off work early today, so I quickly gave Lyn her demos and rushed home. I hung up fairy- lights all around my room and created a fort with some picnic food on my floor. By the time I was done Ezra came back home and walked in.

"What's all this?" He asked as I motioned him to come sit next to me, "I had lunch with Kelton today, and despite some questionable things he's done he actually has a lot of insight." I smiled as I handed Ezra a sandwich.

"What did he say?" He asked with his mouth full, "that you need a break." I pulled myself closer to Ezra and lay his head on my lap.

"You know that I won't leave you no matter what right?" I muttered, Ezra looked at me from the floor, "despite our complicated relationship, I will love you no matter how many times I lose my memories." Our eyes met as I spoke.

"What are you trying to say?" He asked, I thought for a minute, I was just saying my thoughts out loud but I guess he wants a conclusion. "That we're family and I won't leave you." I brushed the tear running down his cheek.

"You keep surprising me with what you say sometimes, you said the same thing to me on our wedding day." He mumbled. "Is family such a hard word for you to say?" I asked.

Ezra nodded, "my dad used to take me and my mom out on trips every once awhile, that's the last time I can remember being apart of a family." I smiled down at him, "idiot. What does that make me." Ezra sat upright as he saw my tears flood out of my eyes.

"I'm not upset, it's just that it's hard seeing a little kid have to teach himself to be an adult. I keep imagining you learning to shave by yourself, cooking one meal, not having someone around to sign a parent slip for school. I don't get why people have left you alone." Before I could comprehend what was happening Ezra's lips had already made contact with mine.

I looked up at him as we broke apart, "you can take your time coming back to me, you don't have to rush anything. I won't leave you alone in this world, because you're the only person that has made me feel fine just being Ezra."
