Lea arrived at the restaurant nearby the RTC. In less than half an hour, Lora arrived, "Late. Sorry. May inasikaso pa ako sa firm.
Lea smiled. "It's alright. I'm used to it"
"Aray ha. Minsan lang kaya ako nalilate sa usapan natin"
"Wala akong sinabing always kang late" she giggled.
They ordered their foods. In just few minutes their orders are served.
"Oo nga pala. Maiba ako. You're almost done with your plans. Imagine? You're just here for like almost 3 months? Walang kahirap hirap"
"Oh well, I'm just lucky that the circumstances conspired to achieve my plans. I'll book my flight tonight"
"So ... you're planning to go back to US now?" Lora imbibed her drink.
"Yes. I want to go home. I miss my mom and my life there. Ang dami ko ng namiss na trabaho"
Lora is assessing her.
"Oh. What's with that look?"
"There's just ... I don't know. May ibang glow ka lang today"
She rolled her eyes. "I'm always glowing and you should get used to it by now". Lea gulped her drink because she's not yet prepared to tell Lora about that one night stand.
"Kayo na ba ni Raven?"
She almost choked up. "What? Raven? No. He's a nice guy but no"
"Aga?" she grinned.
"No. I told you I don't like him" she avoided Lora's gaze.

"Eyes don't lie, Lei"
"Lor, Aga is a nice man too but we're not meant to be. We're meant to be like this ... as lawyers, as colleagues, as ... as friends"
Lora chuckled. "Ito naman di mabiro. Ang seryoso nito. I know you don't like him. But seryoso you have different glow today. Maganda ka naman talaga but ... I don't know ... you look different today"
Lea just smiled as a response.
Lora's phone beep. She glanced at the notif. bar.
Lea noticed her reaction. "Is there a problem?"
"Atty. Ariel Martinez wants to handle me the firm's case. He wants to have a talk with me later. Should I accept it?"
"Why not?"
"Lei, I don't want to meddle with your plans."
"You won't. Just accept it. Besides if you won't accept it baka ano pa isipin niya"
"I reviewed their case. May chance pa namang mababaan ang charges nila. All I'm thinking about is you. You've been through a lot for this to happen. Ayoko namang makasira sa plano mo"
"Lor, that Atty. Ariel Martinez won't get away from this. I just want to see him suffering in jail regardless of the charges he can get" she chewed her food.
