He found her at the parking lot.
"Lea!" he ran to stop her. She is on her Matte Black Fireblade Motorbike, flashing her middle finger.
She started the engine.
"B*llsh*t!" he quickly rides his Black Audi RS6 to chase her.
Her speed is fast but this d...
It's another cold night with emptiness in her heart. Dreaming about the same man, she woke up from it gasping for air with beads of sweat formed on her body. She snuggled on her side pillow, drop of clear fluid found its way down to her cheek again. Unspoken words filled her midnight thoughts for the umpteenth time. Words that only her pillows could hear, his absence that only her blanket could fill it in with a warm embrace and in this four-corner bedroom is where she finds solace.
Her crestfallen face turned into bliss when she felt wiggle in her womb. She's on her second trimester, little movements make her heart flutters every time. She strokes her swollen belly, things would've been easier if he's next to her in this cold night. His image sets in her mind as she closes her eyes.
I miss you, babes. So much. If only we had an exchange of heart, you'd feel the grievous wound you left. Each passing day I only miss you and I hate myself for that. Ang tanga ko lang, eh. I'm still holding on to someone I could never had.
Lea never heard of him since she left the country for good. Her thumbs itched to hit the call button few times but she falters all the time. She tried to wipe him off his heart but heart never lies. It screams for his name amidst the collateral damage she faced from loving him.
The months went by in a brisk pace.
Activity restriction is a struggle for her as she's not used doing little to nothing. In years of her arduous profession, this is her longest break from work. Though she misses each corner of her office, her people, thick pages of documents on her table and all work-related stuff, motherhood is the best job she ever had. Seeing her little girls kicking in her womb, she has no complain at all. It's almost her due date, leg cramps and backache are such a struggle nowadays. Going up and down the stairs gives numbness to her legs. Her mom has been her best companion throughout her pregnancy.
She peeped at the nursery room, smiling. Making sure each thing they need is set. Excitement and fear struck her as a first time mom. Sleepless nights are coming her way, she prepares herself for it.

She almost jumped out of her door in happiness when she saw her sister-like bestfriend stepped out from the car.
"Manang! Ang ganda mong buntis!" Lora gave a peck on Lea's cheek upon reaching the doorstep, grinning. Lea giggled in response, she misses Lora a lot.
The delight in her eyes seeing Lora after few months is apparent. Lora will be spending her vacation with Lea 'til she gives birth. The three of them, includes Joy, enjoy the foods that Lea's mom prepared for their lunch. Lora and Joy did almost all the talking while Lea simply butt in and, sometimes, nods in agreement. An eagerness incites her to ask Lora about him though she shouldn't. She gulped her drink, gathering all the strength there is.
"How is he?" she, out of the blue, asked making her mom and Lora shift their gaze at her.
She noticed the exchanged look of Lora and her mom and to save face, she added, "how is ... uhm ... Atty. Martinez? I mean how is the case going?". She sipped long her drink.
Lea's curiosity about Aga is written all over her face, Lora can read it. "The case? Well, it's going pretty bad and that's a good news to you. The charges naman were quite minimal but he was sentenced to a couple of years in prison so there you have it. You won". Lora wink at her.
"That's good to hear" she munch.
She kept mum after giving a shot to ask it.
Self, stop it! Drop the topic. Some things shouldn't be asked anymore.
Lea tours Lora in the nursery room. Lora gets more excited upon seeing the cuteness of the room but she can sense the sudden silence of her besty. She knows what's running on Lea's mind.
"I never heard anything about him, Lei. Mula nong nagshut down ang firm, wala na akong balita sa kanya" she explained while leaning on the crib next to the window, arms crossed.
Lea with her guilty face on, retorts in defense. "Ha? Did I ask ba?", taking the seat fronting Lora as she feels a slight disappointment for what she can't understand why.
Lora rolled her eyes, "sus Lei, wag ako noh! Kanina ko pa napapansin, you want to ask something about him. I don't know where the Almighty placed him in this world. The last information I heard about him was they suffered great loss kaya binenta niya yung bahay niya and other assets. He never talked to his father after Atty. Ariel was put under arrest, siguro may sisihang naganap. Actually, he's the most affected eh. He lost almost everything and he deserved it naman din after what he did to you"
Lea strokes her belly, choking back tears. She feels a bit of guilt upon hearing it. Though she knows he would end up like this she can't help but to feel responsible to it.
"You love him still, noh?" with concern look in Lora's eyes.
"Ewan. Ganun talaga siguro when the foolish heart beats. No matter how I try to get over him, I just can't. I can't" she pursed her lips.
"Tama na, Lei. You're only hurting yourself. Baka ikaw na lang yung nakakapit pa"
"Or baka ako lang talaga yung kumapit sa simula pa lang. Marupok eh. Tanga eh. I pity myself. Ang tigas ko sa harap ng ibang tao but it only takes someone like him to weaken me"
Lora hushed her. "Lea, tama na. Move on na. Ikaw na rin nagsabi that people come and go. Don't mind those who left. They do not fit in your life. That's the Lea I knew for a long time. Get over him, Lei. Who knows he's happy with someone else now. You deserve to be happy, too"
Lea half-smiled. She knows Lora is right. Maybe it's only her who keeps holding on to something that has been long gone. Someday she'd probably regain the strength she lost. She'd perhaps rebuild the wall he once broke. And if day comes that their paths would cross once again she'd be a whole new person.
