Lea gazed up above the sky, stopping the tears from falling. For so long, she hasn't felt the need to be with someone nor saw the missing piece in her life. But when he came, everything becomes him.
With a heavy heart, he drove his way to the court.
Confused.
Hurt.
Furious.
There's a lot running in his mind. Unsure of what else to do.
Lahat na lang ba mawawala sakin!? My dad's trust, the firm and now .... her!
He pulled over and smashed his fist into the steering wheel."Tang*na! Bwesit!"
He tried to compose himself for this morning's court hearing.
"Wherefore, premises considered, judgment is hereby rendered finding Tina Aurello, not guilty beyond reasonable doubt"
The bereaved Santos family burst into tears. After the session, the mother thanked Lea and Aga for helping them to achieve justice.
"Maam, Sir, maraming salamat po talaga. Salamat ho sa inyo" the mother squeezed their hands due to happiness.
They exchanged awkward looks. Lea is just few inches away from him.
"Ginawa lang po namin ang trabaho namin. Wala po yun" he said to the old lady.
"Ma, tama na po. Nakakaabala na po tayo. Baka may hearing pa silang iba. Attorneys, sige ho. Mauna na po kami. Maraming salamat po" the brother of the victim assisted his mother out of the courtroom.
Aga slid his papers in the briefcase. She is hesitating to say any words while watching him. His austere manner bothered her the whole hearing session.
He grabbed his things and left the courtroom.
Lea informed Alina to cancel her schedule for the entire morning. To contemplate is what she needs right now.
She placed the flowers on top of his dad's tomb. It's been three years since she last visited. She and her mom annually commemorate her father's death anniv. as well as his birthday in US.
"Hi dad. How are you up there? Justice is almost ours. We're almost there dad but .... but I feel confused. I wonder what you'll say if you're here with me. I'm falling in love with your murderer's son. I'm sorry dad. I'm sorry. This isn't part of my plan and you surely know that"
The waterworks begun.
"I thought I'm tough. I thought I can control my emotion. I thought .... I'm contented with my life right now. That I don't need anything or anyone else. Dad, I faced different battles in life but this one is so hard. I was sure of what to do when I came. Everything was under my control but he came into my life and now I'm confused. No matter what I do, I know for sure ..... I'd still lose him" she sobs.
"Maybe it's better to just leave. Dad, I love him so much that it hurts", she pours all the emotions.
Like a little girl telling her dad all her pain.
Like a kid asking her dad for a sympathy.
Lea immediately went to Lora's office when she arrived back to the firm.
"Lei, wag ka muna padalos dalos ng desisyon" Lora is comforting her after she told Lora what had happened.
"I'm not. Kahit naman di kami nagtalo kanina, I'd still leave within two weeks. My responsibilities are waiting for me to go back"
