Her eyes roam around the familiar room when she woke up, it's painted in white. There's an old lady on her white coat beside her bed holding a chart. She smiled at Lea and started talking jargons, she only nods as a response but her mind couldn't grasp it. She raised her wrist to check the time, it's two in the afternoon. She cursed at the wind and tried to get up but the doctor advised her to rest. Atty. Pacis also told her to take the rest of the afternoon as she's worried about Lea.

"Doc, I can't stay here longer. I am a busy mammal. Just give me prescriptions then I'll take a rest at my house" she protests.

The doctor asked her, "When was your last period?"

She recalls it. Realization hit her as she counted her last red days.

Holy shit! I'm fucking weeks delayed!

A lot of occurrences came her way that she forgot the possibility that this day may come. The doctor advised her to use PT then she obliged.

Fear and excitement are battling inside of her as she awaits for the red line. And in just seconds, feels like eternity, she gaped as the second line appeared.

"I'm pregnant" she uttered as tears fell from her eyes while staring at the result on her hand

"I'm pregnant" she uttered as tears fell from her eyes while staring at the result on her hand. She cupped her mouth, wordless about what she feels.

Her heart throbs in happiness. Motherhood has been her ultimate dream. She can't contain her happiness now that she achieved it. It brought joy to her lonely world. Lea cried as she knows it's her new purpose in life. She has new purpose to live.

The doctor did some tests at her to know the condition of the baby. She's at her first trimester and is excited to hear the heartbeat of her young one.

"I can hear two heartbeats" the doctor smiled at her while she's using stethoscope on Lea's belly.

She's at awe upon hearing the doctor's finding. "Two heartbeats? Does it mean .... I'm having twins?"

Her heart almost got out from her chest when she heard a 'yes' from her doctor. Her nerve-racking profession put her little ones at risk so that explains the torturing pain she felt. The doctor advised her a complete bed rest 'til she gives birth and closely monitoring to reassure their good conditions. As if on cue, her mom with Atty. Pacis came in. Lea informed the both of them about her little ones in delight. Her mom was so happy to hear it. Lea grabbed her phone to inform Lora while her mom asks series of questions to the doctor.

As much as she wanted to keep her pregnancy in private, she knows it's not gonna work. After minutes of staring at her phone screen, she hit the button and posted her PT result. Few hours had passed, she's bombarded with warm messages and greetings from different folks she came across with on her fields of endeavour.

There are a lot of changes in her for the following days. Morning sickness and cravings are battling in her anytime of the day. She gets tired so easily and work-from-home was her sole option. Almost her entire day is spend on the bed, facing her Macbook or binge-watching on Netflix.

It's been days of weighing things in but she can't decide yet if Aga should know about the twins. She's not yet prepared to hear his voice again though she misses him. If raising kids is just all about financial aspect then she doesn't need him but it's not. Growing up in a broken family isn't easy so she doesn't want her little ones to go through it. Her heart says to hit that call button and tell him about the twins but her mind is in contrast. It runs back to the memory of him betraying her. It flashed back to those days she thought he loved her. And that day when she was supposed to admit everything to him crept in her mind again. That day when she'd rather take risk than losing him tore her heart again. She's such a fool in believing all of his sweet lies and up to now it beats her up inside.

Though it hurts up to these days but looking at her swollen belly she knows it's all worth it.

The sun is up but Aga is on his bed, staring on the ceiling. Empty bottles and cans of alcohol scattered on his floor. He, sometimes, mumbles Lea's name on his sleep or woke up from his dream of her in the middle of the night.

Devastated.

Weary.

Nothing more can compell him to continue his life.

He's been like this for weeks. He declined any new cases as his mind can't function well. His mom left meals daily outside of his door but she only found it half-eaten or untouched every time. She rarely sees his son going out of his bedroom these days. Many times she tried to reach out but Aga only kept mum and nodded as response.

Life for him is meaningless now. He can't find any good sides in life anymore. This road he's on seems to be a never ending bumpy one. He wants to follow her and search US to find her but chasing someone who doesn't see your worth is stupidity. Even if he finds his way to her nothing's gonna change. The day Lea left is the day he lost everything.

Nothing's left to continue his life.

He is so tired to try.

He is so weak to fight.

He is so empty to be happy.

Staring at the bottle of pills on his hand, his mind flashed back all the memories of her. His heart stings like there's a million needles pierced to it. They say mind and heart are enemies, always in contrast, but at this moment it agreed with each other.

He is giving up.

His mom cried as she screams for help. She found Aga lifeless on the floor with an empty bottle of pills on his hand. She sobs as she tried to wake her son up but no more response.
