"we totally changed the story" "told you"
jeno and nabi walked inside their classroom as jeno kept cheering happily that the story changed, then jeno's eyes went towards a specific figure sitting in her seat
"saeron-ah" jeno raised his arm at the said girl. she stood up as she was just about to reply, a figure suddenly bumped his shoulder with jeno as he passed him. chenle looked at him briefly before heading towards his seat, jeno slowly lowered his arm as they smile slowly left his face
"chenle-ah" chenle ignored her and sat on his seat with girls surrounding him. saeron wanted to apologize about last night's events but seeing him ignoring her just made her even more apologetic. she slowly took her seat again as she fiddles with her fingers, trying to think of a way to get him to talk to her
she didn't notice that chenle kept looking towards her direction. he was mad and still is but he also felt bad for leaving her yesterday. he wanted to hear her explanations but his pride got in the way and decided to ignore her
besides chenle, jeno was also looking at saeron. he was angry at chenle for getting mad at her without knowing what actually happened but a thought popped inside his head. what happened last night was because of him if only he didn't take saeron away from the party then saeron wouldn't be sad and maybe his friendship with chenle won't worsen like now
"what do i do? i suddenly feel bad seeing them like this" jeno wore a bitter smile, hearing his words made nabi silent - she didn't know what to reply. jeno turned his head towards nabi, "this happened because of me and... people have been bothering you all day about jaemin's statement last night"
nabi immediately turned to look at jeno and said, "your fault my butt, yah i wanted to change the story as well so it's both of our faults"
jeno let out a light chuckle which made nabi smiled, she was kinda glad she cheered him up a bit. "has jaemin talked to you yet?"
nabi shook her head and wore a sheepish smile. "i keep running away from him before he got the chance" jeno rolled his eyes at what he just heard, "seriously? you guys are the weirdest couple i've ever known"
"we ain't a couple" "you two are engaged so kinda a couple?" nabi purses her lips as she waved her hand at him saying she doesn't even know anymore
"but it was kinda cool of him to say that" jeno abruptly pulled nabi towards him as he stood up straight with a serious look on his face. "from now on... kwon nabi is th-"
a cough made jeno stopped talking as nabi froze at the familiar voice, both of them slowly turned around to see jaemin behind them with his hands inside his pockets as he wore an annoyed look with his brow raised
"oh hi jae-" "hands off jeno" jeno looked down at nabi to see his arm around her shoulder and immediately flung his arm away and took a step back.
"sorry jaemin, she's all yours" jeno gave the two sheepish smiles and ran away before nabi could grab him
"jeno you lil bi-" "why are you avoiding me?" nabi froze before slowly craning her head towards the male that's approaching her.
"a-avoiding what y-you?" nabi suddenly couldn't function and it'd be a lie if jaemin didn't say his heart just did a thing at how cute she looked. jaemin tried to contain the smile that's slowly creeping out
"whatever, are you going to the hospital later?" "i am?"
jaemin shook his head in disbelief before stepping forward so they'll be much closer as he raised a hand to her forehead. "is your brain also sick? you're really malfunctioning" he muttered but was confused when he felt her temperature was all fine
"sick brain? no what?" jaemin saw that her cheeks were getting really red which made him smirk, "are you blushing? or are you flustered?" he cupped her cheeks as he mushed it around his action suddenly made nabi's heartbeat ten times faster which made her watch went off
"beep beep beep beep beep"
the constant beeping made nabi snapped back to reality and she immediately swatted his hands away and checked her watch. "why did..?" nabi tilted her head as her eyes widened at how fast her heart is beating, her heartbeat has always been slow and to see it this fast shocked her
"yah are you okay?" jaemin grabbed her wrist to check her watched and let out a small 'huh?'.
"i never knew you're capable of beating fast like this" nabi flung her hand away from his grasp and coughed awkwardly
"i didn't know as well.." she murmured as she tried to calm herself to make the watch shut up. jaemin suddenly got an idea on why the watch went off and couldn't help but let out a small chuckle
then nabi suddenly froze. she raised her head from her watch to his face as she pointed a finger towards him as she said, "d-did you just.. laugh?"
jaemin finally realized and quickly wiped off the smile and rubbed his nape awkwardly, "you're imagining things" nabi rolled her eyes at him, "that's what you said last time" she murmured which made jaemin unable to hear it
"anyways, bring me if you're going to get a check up" "why?"
jaemin cocked a brow at her dumb question before getting closer to the girl, nabi felt her heartbeat was already calm but with this gap, she knows it'll malfunction again. and one sweet smile from him sent the watch off
'stupid watch'
jaemin bit his lip to hold his smile from getting wider and slowly raised his hand slowly. the watch is still beeping and nabi's slowly getting nervous at what he's going to do
'is he going to pat my head? stroke my hair? pinch my cheeks? kis-'
"you're my fiance dumbass" "ow that hurt"
yeah you thought he was going to do something cute but no, he flicked her forehead. that little yet painful action totally made nabi's watch shut up which nabi was thankful but at the same time, she's also mad.
nabi rubbed her forehead as she glared at him who's only replying with a teasing grin. he leaned back and patted her forehead gently twice
"text me later and stop running away from me" that was the last thing he said before leaving the classroom and left a frozen nabi
'd-did he just? h-huh?'
nabi raised her hand and touched her forehead, she could feel the burn on her cheeks as well as heart sudden racing. then she suddenly snapped out of it and slapped her cheeks
"no nabi you can not fall for him. he's mean" nabi kept repeating the first sentence while lightly slapping her cheeks until she just realized something
"wait.. that wasn't a stage.."
