"fancy seeing you here" saeron craned her head to the side to see jeno approaching her. "i can say so the same to you" jeno chuckled before throwing a question towards the girl
"can i ask why you came to school?" saeron's eyes flickered around before replying with a rather awkward tone, "just because"
jeno eyed the girl's demeanor before hesitatingly ask her, "did.. something happen?" saeron lightly scoff before replying, "does something have to happen for me to see you?"
just as jeno was about to answer, saeron cuts him off. "it's just that you were the one that came to my mind"
jeno was curious at first about why she thought of him but he thought it's best to not have high hopes so he only let out a small smile before saying,
"i didn't bring my guitar though" "i didn't come to see you play" jeno became seriously curious but like before, he brushed off the feeling
"ah! by the way, i have something for you" saeron's eyes followed his hands that put down a paper bag that she didn't notice at first, her eyes rounded at the sight of a box being pulled out of the bag.
"this is for you" he held out the box to her, saeron was hesitant on taking it or not but in the end, she did. she slowly put the box on her lap and took off the lid, she uncovered the paper on top and gasped on what was inside the box
"i don't know if it'll fit you or not though" jeno said before an idea came to his mind, "wait a moment" he grabbed the box out of her lap and put it down before taking the new white shoes out
"can i?.." he gestured to the shoes saeron's currently wearing and when he saw her approval, he smiled and gently took the shoe off of her foot. he treated saeron like she was fragile as glass, he gently slide her foot into the new white shoe and pulled his bag off of his shoulder
he grabbed a mark he usually placed inside his bag and began to draw a small butterfly on the shoe. "it may disappear during the stage but i guess it's worth a try.."
jeno then raised his head from her shoe to lock eyes with the girl who had her eyes on him the whole time. "do you know about the butterfly effect?" jeno chuckled lightly at her blinking eyes before calmly began his explanation
"i've read a book about this in the library... it's about how small changes can cause big effects..."
"me and nabi have tried several times to change our fates. nabi wants to make her heart better and i.. wanted to make you like me"
saeron's eyes rounded at his last sentence as jeno lightly scoffed before saying, "but we can't do that anymore.. now, i'll have to root for you and chenle even if i don't want to"
somehow saeron felt sad from his words, she didn't like how sad and defeated he sounded, she also didn't like the fact that he supports her nonexistent relationship with chenle's when in fact, she doesn't feel anything for that male
