"nabi have you contacted jaemin yet?" nabi's mother asks her child who sat beside her as nabi nodded in response,
"he said he's stuck in traffic" the other people which are nabi's parents and jaemin's parents nodded as a response before continuing to talk to pass the time
the two families decided to have another dinner together so they can continue their discussion about the upcoming wedding. the only one missing is jaemin, he said he had club activities after school today so he already informed nabi that he'll be late
a few minutes passed by and suddenly the vip's door flew open and the awaited male finally came. nabi chuckled lightly when he saw how messy his hair was since it was still rather wet from his shower
"i'm sorry for being late" he bowed down towards the people seated in front of him, especially his in laws
"it's okay jaemin, take a seat" nabi's mother gestured him to take a seat in front of nabi as it was the only vacant one. he then nodded and proceed to sit on the seat, not forgetting to pass his fiance a small smile
the dinner then started with a few talks about business between the two fathers, the two mothers talk about their children's education as well as some beauty topics. the only two teenagers?
they were eating quietly while stealing a quick look to the other and if one of them got caught they'll only break into smiles while trying to hold their laughter. then the two froze as the familiar noise came back and now their free selves are back to being controlled
"nabi-ah" the said girl turned her head to the side to answer her mother in law, "yes mother?" jaemin's parents told nabi to call them comfortably as mother and father just like how nabi's parents told jaemin. it was a bit awkward for the two teenagers but then they got used to it
"your dress fitting will be on saturday, you're free on that day right?" nabi looks up as she tries to remember her schedule for this week then she nods which made her mother in law smile happily
"that's settled then, jaemin your tux fitting will be on sunday so the both of you won't clash" jaemin nods before asking, "i don't need to join on saturday right?" for some reason, his tone made nabi's mood went down, it was like he was hoping that he didn't need to go
'remember this is a stage'
his mother nodded before saying, "it's bad luck if the groom sees the bride's dress before the wedding" jaemin then nodded as he felt happy with his mother's answer
"why? do you have somewhere to go on saturday?" nabi quietly asks the male in front of him, "no, i'm always free" he replied as he shook his head before taking a bite as he tried to not make eye contact with her
nabi narrowed her eyes at him as she wasn't sure he was saying the truth or not but she brushed the thought away and nodded before continuing to eat her food even though she was full already
"the wedding will be held soon, aren't you excited nabi-ah?" her mother nudge the girl beside her as nabi shyly looks down before nodding with a smile on her face.
"i know jaemin will take care of me nicely so i'm becoming impatient" nabi joked as the four parents only broke into fits of laughter as jaemin only stared blankly at nabi
nabi noticed his straight face and the smile slowly left her face. on the inside, nabi tried to comfort herself by saying 'it's a stage' repeatedly so she wouldn't get sad at how cold jaemin is acting right now but she already fell for him so it was hard to think positively
the discussion continued until nabi suddenly felt a pang in her head with the following pain throughout her heart and without her realization, she blacked out

"does nabi take her medication regularly?" junhyung questions nabi's parents after he finished checking her condition,
"yes she does, she never skips" mr. kwon replies as he tried to calm his wife who was worried about their child laying on the hospital's bed unconscious
junhyung nods before closing his file about nabi which contains the results of nabi's daily check up. "it's better to let her rest for now" then junhyung bows down before leaving the room
"miyoung-ah, how about we buy some food for when nabi wakes?" jaemin's mother wanted to calm her friend so she approached her. miyoung who was sitting beside nabi while holding her child's hand only nodded before slowly standing up and walked with her friend out of the room
they both left the room which leaves the two father and jaemin inside the room. "taejoon-ah, can you follow me outside for a minute? jaemin please keep an eye on nabi" jaemin nods as the two fathers left the room
then the noise came back and jaemin finally felt free. he immediately grab a hold of nabi's hand as he stared worriedly at her. "i'm sorry for earlier.." he murmured as his other hand reached out to brush the hair out of her eyes
jaemin hated his self for acting that way earlier but what can he do? it was a stage. but he knows it hurt nabi.
"can you wake up now? i need to actually apologize to you" he brought nabi's hand up and held it in front of his mouth to peck it shortly before bringing it down back to the bed
he sighs before continuing to play with nabi's fingers as he waits for her to wake up. but then a phone rang which startled him, he looks over to the desk across from him to see it was his dad's phone
since he didn't want it to bother nabi and of course he can't decline the call so he stood up from his seat and sadly released his hand from nabi before making his way to grab the phone
he stared at the id but it was all numbers, his brows furrowed before shrugging his shoulders and then made his way to the door. he opened the door and was about to step out until he halted. his ears twitch from what he just heard, his body froze as his heart race rapidly.
he tried to decipher what he just heard but it was too difficult as he was in disbelief.
"nabi is terminal so she doesn't have a lot of time left"
