Hime stared at the ceiling anxiously. She couldn't sleep again.
Whenever she would try to do so, she felt as if anxiety would attack her the moment she would close her eyes. And the thought scared her, what if the moment she closed her eyes, those dreams would drown her again.
She's in Busan right now. She knew she has been here before, everything seemed so familiar.
She knew she has lived here before, memories were slowly coming back as soon as she stepped inside the Dwaejigukbap restaurant, her mom used to take her there. She remembers the streets, the food, and everything. And for some odd reason, she remembers the gate of Eunsang's country house they were staying in.
But still, everything still seems to be a blur. Her eyes then traveled to the windows as she focused on the white transparent curtains, and focused on how the moonlight could go through.
'It seems to be the time' Hime thought.
She wanted to know the truth. She knew she wasn't from Seoul. She knew her parents, Haruto and she didn't just take a vacation in Busan a long time ago. She knew she didn't know them before that. She knew Haruto wasn't the reason why she got injured. She knew she knew nothing about herself. She knew it was about time for her to know the truth.
She's in Busan and so was Wooshik. He seemed to be fine as if he wasn't even crazy at all. As soon as their eyes met outside the restaurant that night, Hime was about to scream or call the cops even, or attack him herself. But she stopped herself as she saw a little girl ran towards the man, he had a family, Hime then looks into Wooshik's eyes once more, it was full of guilt and sadness, and before he could leave two words escapes his lips.
"I'm sorry," For some reason, Hime wanted to cry on the spot. She felt tired. But she knew she shouldn't shed a tear knowing her friends were just inside the restaurant. Hime felt weak. She then glanced at the sleeping Mika, beside her.
Hime then thought to herself
'Don't sleep, you know what happens if you do'
She then decided to get up, her feet touching the cold guestroom floor. She left the room and headed downstairs. As she saw the living room, a memory flashed, she then leaned on the sofa in front of her, as her head began to ache. She remembers a party, lights flashing here and there, the smell of alcohol, and loud music and voices could be heard.
'Stop' she tells herself, her breath hitched. She felt like she was in one of her dreams.
Hime then quickly looks away from the living room, making her way to the kitchen to fetch herself some water.
her hands were shaking as she took a glass of water to drink.
her eyes then wandered around, she felt a cold breeze, passing by, which she think was kinda weird since she was inside, but she then realized the kitchen window was opened.
She looks out the window to see a big garden and a pool on the left side of it.
Hime pulled the handle of the kitchen door, causing the door to make a little screeching sound.
She felt goosebumps the moment her bare feet made contact with the grass. being in contact with nature was one of the things that calm her down. She took a deep breath and took another step, exhaling.
She walked deeper into the garden, she reached the end of it, Wrought iron fences were in front of her. She sighed as she took a look at the fence, as she looked up to see how high the fence was she ended up looking more upwards, her eyes were once again glued into the night sky.
She took 10 steps away from the fences, still looking up, her eyes not leaving the stars. she then reached a marble bench and sat on it.
a few minutes later, Hime got startled as she hears a croak of a frog behind her. She got more startled as she saw someone just a few steps behind the frog.
"Eunsang, gosh you scared me." Hime placed her hand on her chest.
Eunsang then smiled at her.
"it seems like you were more scared of the frog though...don't be afraid he's one of your kind" Eunsang teased, Hime rolled her eyes and got back admiring the midnight sky again.
"it seems like, the sky is more important than your boyfriend huh? can you at least give me a little bit of attention? you haven't talked to me since we left the restaurant, you didn't even bother to say 'goodnight' to me before going to sleep. are you mad? did I do something wrong?" Eunsang says in a calm manner and made his way behind her and placed a hand on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry, it's not like that- no-- It's just-- I have a lot in mind, sorry" Hime sighs.
"How did you know I'm here anyway?" Hime asks looking down at the ground then to Eunsang behind her.
"I don't, I wanted to get some fresh air, I saw a frog and followed it, it seemed to lead me to you." Eunsang walks around the marble bench and stood in front of Hime.
"oh," Hime then glanced at the frog.
Eunsang then kneels down in front of her and took her hand.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Eunsang asks.
"I'm fine Eunsang, nothings wrong, what makes you think somethings wrong? you always ask me that out of the blue" Hime smiled at him.
Eunsang smiled back at her then frowned, Hime then slowly frowned noticing him frown.
Eunsang searches something in his pocket and got out a bottle of pills- the one that Hime had lost.
"How...?" Hime asks as Eunsang passes her the bottle.
"I'm sorry if I didn't tell you, I accidentally saw it when it fell out of your bag when you were at my place back in Seoul. I thought it was something personal, and maybe you didn't want anyone to know so, I thought, for you not to feel uncomfortable, I didn't speak about it-- and I just took it, thinking maybe it could be a reason to ask you in the right time if you were okay?" Eunsang panicked and explained his point of view, hoping Hime would understand. which she did.
"If you have anything you want to share or talk about, just tell me," Eunsang said which melted Hime's heart.
"It's nothing," Hime looked down. She felt kinda embarrassed.
"Hime," Eunsang lifted her chin up, looking her straight into her eyes. "are you sure, you're not lying?"
Hime then spoke up
"pffft of course, yeah Eunsang I'm fine, you're acting weird you know that" Hime's voice cracked at the end. She could feel her cheeks heating up and tears filling up her eyes.
she wasn't okay.
but still, she tried to hold her breath to stop herself from crying.
Eunsang then looked down.
"Should I turn around?" Eunsang asks, knowing she didn't want him to see her cry again.
Hime nods a tear escaping her right eye. Eunsang turns around still on the ground, not getting up his kneeling position, he didn't let go of her hand either.
as soon as Eunsang turned away, Hime lets her tears stream down her cheeks.
she griped into Eunsang's hand. not wanting to let go.
