*Eight*

DR. PARK'S POV

I was able to give a sigh of relief. I knew that the young man needed some time to realize he wanted that baby. I called the OBGYN floor and set up a 12 week appointment.

As I walked to my office I heard familiar voices. Of course. My son and his friends. His friends have been here since they finished their Junior year of college trying to get me to hire them after they finish college. I was already planning to hire them after graduation but it was fun seeing them work for it. Plus these young men need to know the values of hard work.

"So Dad have you decided yet if we can work here?" My son Phana asked

"I'm still thinking. There are alot of candidates from all over the country who have good grades. The 3 of you need to work hard to maintain your GPAs"

"We will dad, right guys" the two kids nodded

"Okay good to know"

"Dad, you seem extra happy. Anything special happened?" Phana asked

"As a matter of fact yes, I helped a patient today"

"What was wrong?" Kit asked

"Well nothing deadly. A few weeks ago a young man came in feeling sick and turned out he was pregnant. He wanted an abortion so I told him to come back today to talk about options, but after hearing the babys heart beat he decided to keep his baby" they all gasped "by the way he hugged that photo I could tell he was happy that he decided to keep the baby. But still becoming a parent at 18 is difficult. He said the child's father isn't around either." I sighed

"Wow, so young. How does one let that happen especially at a young age? That's why I'm on the shot and I use condoms. And Beam has the patch. Phana you better be careful. With how you roll you could have multiple babies by now" Kit laughed

"I'm always careful. But still what kind of asshole abandons his pregnant boyfriend?" Phana growled. I raised my son right and I knew that if he accidentally fathered a child, he would step up and help raise that baby.

"And this is my cue. Here take these" I handed them all condoms. "None of you should even be thinking about sex. You all need to focus on senior year and upcoming exams, but if you're going to have sex anyway at least you're taking precautions. Phana don't go making me a grandpa just yet."

He laughed "Dad I'm too young for that"

"Although your father would love for you to have many kids since I told him my limit was one. I did tell him he could have carried the next one but he was not okay with that suggestion.

"Dad please, I don't need to know about yours and Father's sex life"

"Okay okay" I laughed. I sat down and I checked my email

Hello LOVE,

I'm cutting my relief work short. My old roommate from college called to inform me that he will be a grandpa. He asked me to take over the prenatal care. At first I declined because we were short on staff, but he said that he would donate enough money to build a hospital here and in the meantime will pay for twice as many doctors to work at the clinic here. So I'm coming home. I'll be there in 3 days. I can't wait to see you and Phana.

I felt my face flush as I read that last line. He never could send an email, voicemail or text to me unless he wrote something like that at the end

"Dad are you okay?"

"Yes Phana, I'm fine. Father is cutting his relief work short. He said his old college roommate just called. He's expecting his first grandchild and wants your father to do the prenatal care appointments."

"Wow, Father never drops anything like that for me but he'll fly back in the country for an old roommate"

"He said that the roommate offered to build the village a hospital and hire more staff to help at the clinic. So knowing you father he felt good about coming home without leaving the clinic short staffed." I explained

"Well for him to be pulled out of relief work, the roommate has to come from money. To build a whole hospital. His kid is probably another spoiled rich kid" Kit said while Beam nodded in agreement

"Yeah, that kid is probably a huge asshole too. They better not call my father at all hours of the night crying or the smallest pregnancy symptom" Phana mumbled

"Hey let's not judge someone. But I'm not complaining. Anyone that can get my husband to come home early is good in my book. Now the three of you go enjoy your summer. I have lots of planning to do." My husband has been overseas for the last two months and I have a lot of paper world left to do before he gets here and I need to start getting myself ready for him too. I pulled out my phone and booked a wax appointment.

I always hated shaving and let's just save my husband loves the feeling of my hair free skin when we make love.
