KELLY'S POV
It's been a couple days since I've started sitting at the badboys' table during lunch.
Aiden and Ryder have become very close to the girls and I.
Zeke still resents me.
Matt has now started nodding towards me as a greeting from time to time considering we shared a few classes together too but we still haven't had a proper conversation. We try not to bicker because it then spoils our friends' moods too.
We both walked together to the cafeteria since we just had biology together. We walk together but don't talk. Typical us.
"Why does Matt look like he was just rolled over by a truck?" Aiden questioned and Matt just glares at him
"We are partners for the bio project that holds 60% of our grade" I sigh and sit with Matt sitting opposite to me
"That explains." Zeke mumbled and I glare at him
"You know I could just do the whole project by myself right?" I say to Matt
"Ya and loose 60% of my grade? No thank you."
"I've never gotten anything but full on any of the projects in my whole life." I counter back
"Cut the argument, precious."
I swear every time he says precious, it annoys the hell out of me.
I am used to being call ugly and all the nasty names but someone calling me with something so sweet and important, I don't know. It makes my heart go weird and I don't like it.
He does not mean it. He probably doesn't remember your name considering he has all the girls around him all the damn time. My conscience spoke and this time I agreed with it.
"When is Jay coming?" Ryder asked Matt
"Tomorrow." came his short reply
"Hey, Matty baby. I missed you, did you miss me too?" came a squeaky voice
I look up to see none other than, Ashley Anderson.
"Umm, I've been quite busy Alyssa." Matt said without looking up at her
The hell? This guy didn't even get her name right. The rest of us at our table are laughing so hard that tears have started to take place on our cheeks.
"My name's Ashley." she huffed
"Same thing." Matt said with an eye roll
I told you he forgets names. My conscience spoke and I suddenly stopped laughing. For some unknown reason, I felt a pang in my heart.
The next thing I know, Ashley is on Matt's lap and they're kissing the living daylights outta each other.
"What's wrong Kel?" Nat whispers
I don't know what expression I had on my face while looking at Matt but I was quick to plaster a fake smile.
"Nothing at all." I say and she smiles at me
I glance at my watch, we still have 30 minutes of lunch till our next class starts.
So I decide to get involved in the conversation that everybody was having but then I see Matt staring at me.
We lock eyes for a second but I look away.
"Kel, what are you doing this evening?" Jo asks
"Jo, are you trying to ask me out?" I say and raise and eyebrow, playfully
"Oh my God, how did you guess?" she deadpans
"Talent, hun." I say and flip my hair in a dramatic manner
"Now answer the question." she demands
"Am gonna go to the park across the street and probably read a novel or listen to music." I answer
"You're such a bore." she huffs
"Wanna party?" Ly says enthusiastically
"Nope." I say popping the 'p'
"Why not?" she pretends to whine
"Just because." I answer
"That's not a valid answer." GG remarks
"If I wanted to give one, I would've given it in the first chance." I say faking an innocent smile
"Guys just let me be. You go party though." I finally say
Matt and Ashley are now finally done eating each other's face and Matt looks at me but I immediately look away.
The school bell rings signaling that lunch was over.
"See ya peps." I say and leave to library
I didn't share library with any of them. Thank God! I really craved alone time at times. And library class gave me just that.
I am peacefully reading in the library when someone decided to show up.

I know my book's a typical cliché and there's nothing extraordinary about it but just know that, I'm not giving my 100% into it and that I can do a lot better.
This book is just an escape from reality from me.
