MATTHEW'S POV

As soon as precious left the library, I turned to face Jayden.

"Why the fuck did you do that mahn!?" I yelled at him

"This is none of your fuckin business, Knight." he spitted out

"Oh yeah so now you're gonna yell nasty words at me too and hurt me like you hurt precious?" I snap

"See I know you wanna fuck my cousin but that so does not mean you can interfere in our personal matters." he yells and stands to leave

I know he wasn't thinking straight so I punched him square in the face.

"Why the fuck would you fucking punch me!?" he yelled at me

"To bring you out of the stance that you were in. Now sit here and think about everything you did and said. Come to me after you've sorted everything in your head." I tell him and leave

I get into my car and drive to precious' apartment.

I needed to check if she was okay. I could see how hard she was trying to hold back her tears when she left the library.

I reached her apartment and was about to press the door bell when I heard sobbing sounds from inside.

My precious was crying?

She's not yours. My conscience butted in.

Now is not the time to debate about that.

I softly knock on the door and wait for her to say something.

"Hey, precious. It's me. Please open the door." I say softly

After a good 5 long minutes, the door slowly opened and there standing in front of me was precious, with her eyes bloodshot and her body shaking.

I didn't even think twice before walking to her and wrapping my arms around her, hugging her tight.

At first her body stiffened but later she relaxed under my touch and hugged me back.

I kicked the door close and gently brushed Kelly's hair.

I could feel her holding back her tears but I knew she had to let all of them out before we talked about whatever happened at the library.

"It's okay, baby. Let it all out." I said and as soon as I finished, I could feel her tears on my shirt

"It going to be okay, baby." I says rubbing her back, trying to calm her

I want to hate Jayden for doing this to her but I know he must have had a solid reason behind it. Kelly was literally his heartbeat. He'd never intentionally hurt her.

"I'm here. It'll all be okay." I say and pick her up in bridal style and lay her on her bed

She had stopped crying by now but I could still see the pain on her face.

I brushed away her hair from her face and kissed her forehead.

I stood up and was about to walk away when a soft hand grabbed my wrist.

"I don't want to be alone." she said with so much pain and vulnerability in her voice that I could literally hear my heart breaking into pieces

I got on the bed and half sat half laid down on it, wrapping my arms around her.

"You'll never be alone while I'm here, precious." I whisper while slowly running my hands through her hair

She put her head on my chest and held me tight as if she thought I was going to leave.

"I'm here, baby. I'll be right here when you wake up." I promise her

Her hold on me didn't loosen up but after a couple minutes, her breath calmed down, indicating she had finally fallen asleep. She really needed the sleep.

I didn't even realize when I had fully laid down and had fallen asleep.
