"When someone falls you don't leave em on the ground
That will come back around
And when you are down don't you want
Someone to pick you up, dust you off and start over
Let that be the person that you stand for
Let that be the person that you are, yeah."
_______________________________________I thought they were hooking up but after a few seconds when I realized that he was forcing her and she was trying to push him away but was failing miserably, I couldn't stop myself from doing what I did next.
I went towards them, walking as fast as I can, grabbed the guy by his collar and pulled him away from Ashley.
Before the guy could react to whatever happened, I slapped him tight on the cheek and while he was recovering from that, punched him as hard as I could in the gut.
"You bitch!" he growled and charged towards me
And before I could know what was going on, I was trapped against the lockers with no way to escape and he punched me in the stomach.
If he thought I was someone who would give up easily, he thought wrong.
I tried to push him away but it was of no use, he wouldn't budge.
So I pretended to surrender and act tired but then kneed him at the place where the sun doesn't shine while he was distracted and pushed him away as he cried in pain.
I quickly grabbed Ashley by her elbow and lead her to the girl's washroom.
"You okay?" I ask Ashley, concerned but she only nods, weakly
I help her clean her wounds and then I start to clean my own.
"Why was that guy forcing you?" I ask, curiosity getting the best of me
"Jack and I slept together last night and then he said he wanted to go it again but I refused and then he punched me in the gut. I had managed to flee from his place yesterday but today when the hallway was empty, he came and said the same thing and you know the rest." she says referring to the guy, with a pained expression
"I hope he learns his lesson. I'm sorry those things happened to you." I say with a warm, polite smile
"Why are you doing this?" she asks as I rinse the warm water over my elbow that was bleeding because of the hard push against the lockers
"What do you mean?" I ask, confused
"Why are you helping me?" she reframes her question
"Because I saw you were in trouble and so I helped." I state
"But I'm always such a bitch to you. Why would you do that?" she asks
"Well you see, mistakes fade out. I agree that you shouldn't have been rude to me and called me nasty names but that doesn't mean that if I see you in trouble, I won't come and help you out. And you know how an eye for an eye would leave the world blind, right? " I joke making her chuckle
"Thank you." she says with a warm smile
"Well you have nothing to thank me for. We're queens and we help each other out in the time of need." I smile back at her
"You're really sweet and kind, you know? No wonder Matt is all over you." she says, smiling
"There nothing between Matt and I. We're just good friends." I tell her
"There's nothing between you two, yet. Wait a couple more months and we'll see if you still say the same." she teases
"Yeah let's see." I say and chuckle
She was so sweet. I don't know why she put up the act of acting like a bitch. She was so warm right now.
"You're really sweet and friendly, you know?" I voice my thoughts
"I know you're thinking about my 'bitch' façade and you probably have a ton of questions on why I act that way, don't you?" she asks
"It's really okay if you don't wanna talk about it." I say
"No it's okay. I'll tell you if you promise to keep this conversation just between the two of us, okay?"
"You're words are safe with me, Ash." I give her hand a gentle squeeze to assure her
We both hop on to the counter.
"Well back in my old school, I was constantly bullied which resulted in me practicing self harm. But then when I moved here, I decided that I wasn't going to be the same old kind girl and that resulted in me becoming the queen bitch of the school." she says
"I don't completely support the path that you have chosen but I understand why you did it and I respect it. It's just, you don't have to be rude to someone to hide your fears. Honestly Ashley, smiling and being happy is the best way to overcome your fears." I say with a warm smile
"The other day in the food court, you suddenly went away when I made the comment of you being fat and it kind of shocked me because I've said nastier things to you but you come up with a comeback and put me back in my place. But that day you just left without saying anything. Mind if I ask why?" she says
"The thing is, I used to be bullied at my previous school for being fat when I wasn't. I never tried self harming because I'm totally against that but the nasty comments that everyone made about my weight and looks left an impact on me. I thought I left past all those nasty years but when you commented about it, I didn't know how to react." I answer, truthfully
"I'm really sorry, Kelly. Actually, Matt and I hooked up from time to time and I was starting to think I was in love with him. But then when you came along, it was as if I or any other girl was a nobody to him. I don't know if you know it but he hasn't hooked up with anyone in a long time now. All of us were obviously jealous of you coz he wouldn't look at anyone else when you were around. But now when I see you guys together, I feel really happy for the both of you." she says
"There's honestly nothing going on between the two of us, Ash." I tell her again
"As I said earlier, nothing is going on, yet." she says hopping down while I follow her
"Well I have class so see ya." she says while we both exit the washroom and leave for our respective classes
I had Physics right now so I went and sat down at my regular seat and waited for Matt to come.
We were half way through the class and Matt was nowhere to be seen.
It was weird coz I had just seen him an hour ago and now he has vanished into thin air.The class door swung open to reveal a panting Nat.
"Ke...kel... It's... Matt.." she managed to get the words out, still panting
As soon as she let the words out, I was already out of my place and walking as fast as I could to the door.
I quickly apologized to the teacher and left.

Why did Nat come and call Kelly?
What happened to Matt?
How come only those couple words were enough for the goody-2-shoes Kelly to leave the classroom and rush to him?
