I see his eyes flick to my lips, stay there for a few seconds and then come back to look deep in my eyes.
My eyes involuntarily travel down him face and pause at his soft, beautifully crafted lips.
And then...
Just as his head leaned down a little more, my phone starts to ring and Matt and I immediately snap out of our stances and he moves away from me while I go and pick up the call.
"Hey, princess. You going to come pick us up?" my dad's voice speaks through the phone
I turn around so that my back is facing Matt and try to find my voice back that is somehow stuck in my throat.
"Yes dad, I'm just about to leave." I finally get my voice back and say
"Okay, see you, princess." he says
"See ya, daddy." I say softly and hang up the call
I turn around to see Matt drinking from the same cup of mango smoothie that I was drinking from earlier. Before the whole 'almost kiss' scene happened.
"My parents are here, I gotta go." I tell him, trying to sound as normal and cool as I can
"Sure. I'll walk down to the parking lot with you, I'm yet to see your sexy Audi RS7." he says with a grin
Why is he acting as if the fast few minutes didn't even happen?
You should do the same. My conscience spoke.
Yeah maybe he was just caught up in the heat of the moment or something. It'd be best for us to just forget whatever happened so we don't loose each other as friends.
"Sure, C'mon let's go." I say and we walk out of my apartment
"And that my friend is my brand new baby!" I say with a huge grin as I show him my new car
I had money saved up from all these years and then I also had the money from work which in total enabled me to buy this beautiful Audi RS7!
"Fuck! This is damn sexy, precious." he says as he brushes his hand on my car
"I know right!" I exclaim with a grin
"I'm go gonna drive this someday." he says and dreamily sighs
"We'll disagree on that thought later. Right now, my parents are waiting for me so I gotta go. Bye Matty boy." I say and get into the driver's seat
"Drive safe, precious. See ya." he says and I wave at him and leave to the airport

The only thought in my head the entire drive to the airport was how I almost kissed Matthew Knight. How did I let it happen?
He probably isn't even thinking about it about it. Heck I even doubt if he'd even remember the moment like I did considering he has booty calls almost all the time and all of it was probably normal to him.
I'm not judging him because I know he's an amazing person under all this 'badboy' façade but that doesn't mean it makes him any less of a playboy.
Just one thing's for sure, I'm not going to get my heart broken by him.
"Elly!!!!!!!!!" my sister's voice booms through the airport as soon as I get out of my car
"Kitty!!!!!!!" I exclaim with the same level of excitement as her and wrap her in a tight hug
"I missed you!!" we both exclaim at the same time and then laugh, making our parents chuckle
"Hey mommy. Hey daddy." I greet my parents as I hug them both
"Hey princess." dad greets back while mom hugs me tighter as a greeting
"We're here too, you know?" I hear Uncle Sam say with a playful smirk
"Hiiii Uncle Sammy and Auntie Jenny!" I greet them and wrap them both in a bear hug, making them chuckle
"You slept in, didn't you?" my mom says with a smirk, knowing she's right
"I did." I say with a sheepish grin
"Who woke you up because you weren't replying to our texts and calls?" Auntie Jen asks
"I was actually up late yesterday and was in a deep slumber so I couldn't hear my phone ring. One of my friends woke me up and reminded me about how I was late and that I had to pick you guys up." I tell them
"We knew something like this was gonna happen. Elly can change everything but her love for sleep and food." Kitty says, making us all laugh
"Not my fault those two are really important." I playfully huff and cross my arms around my chest
"Aww, solly elly." Kitty says in her cute baby voice and wraps me in a hug, making us all chuckle
"Where's Jay? He said he was on his way when I called him." I ask
"I'm here, sista." Jay's voice speaks and we all turn to look at him
"How very punctual of you, Den." Kitty huffs and crosses her arm over her chest
"Sorry, lil princess." Jay says and kneels down to kitty's height to give her a hug
"I swear we have some dramatic kids here." My dad says making us all laugh
"Let's all go home." I say as I get into the driver's seat and they all hop in
