He leaned in his face closer to mine and reluctantly my head moved closer to his.

And then...

"Hey guys, the food is rea-" I hear Jay's voice but he stops as he takes in the situation in front of his eyes

Matt and I get off of each other as if we've been electrocuted.

"I'm gonna help dad and Sam arrange the food." I choke out and hurriedly leave, not waiting for any of their reactions

MATTHEW'S POV 

I can't believe that sneaky little beautiful bird left me here with her beloved cousin after we had the little 'moment'.

"What the fuck did I just see?" Jayden growled

Jayden wasn't the overprotective brother, he just looked out for her but I knew I was going to have to answer his questions. He would chop off anyone's head when it concerned Kelly and I sure don't want to die this young.

"What?" I say stupidly, trying to play dumb but this just causes his glare to harden 

"Don't you dare try and play dumb here, Matthew Mason Knight!" he growls and I just let out a defeated sigh

"Do you like her?" he says after a couple minutes

"Huh?" I ask, confused

"Do you really like Kelly or are you just fucking around?" he reframes

"I don't know." I tell him honestly

"Listen Matt, I know you're my best friend but if you're just playing with my sister's feeling and if you think she's just a regular fling and if you end up hurting her, just know that I will not hesitate to kill you." he says in a dead serious tone and I know he means it

"Precious is definitely not a fling. I do care about her and I want to look out for her but I don't know if I like like her. I'm just really confused but I would never intentionally hurt her and I want you to know that." I tell him

"You were fucking about to kiss my sister and you don't know if you like her? Are you even in your senses, Matt?" he asks and throws his hands up in the air in a dramatic way

"I'm trying to figure it out. It's like I feel this pull towards her and I can't take my eyes off of her when she around. It's like everything around me disappears the moment her skin comes in contact with mine. It feels so comforting when she looks in my eyes and calls out my name. It's like she can see right through me. It's as if she knows when I'm faking a smile and knows when it's a genuine one. And I love it when she rambles and then cuts herself off in between and gets embarrassed that she wasn't thinking before speaking and oh god does she looks cute. And her soft lips that look so inviti-" I ramble and then Jay cuts me off

"Okay I don't want to know how you get a boner when you look at my sister." he says, stopping my ramble

"I'm just confused." I sigh

"You like her." He says in a flat tone

"How do you know?" I ask

"You're fucking whipped, bro. You've never talked about any girl like you talked about Kelly. Hell you've never even noticed stuff like this with any other girl. You like her. Just admit it. If not to her yet, then at least to yourself. How long are you going to run away from how you feel, Matt?" he says
