"It's amazing how life is so crazy
Walking through fields just smelling the Daisies
Grab my phone, call all my friends
Then they all come hang out for the weekend."
_______________________________________KELLY'S POV
Last night was the best party I've ever been to.
I had so much fun that I can't even describe it in words.I'm happy that I decided to go to the party, I would've missed out a lot if I hadn't.
I'm trying not to think about the dance that Matt and I shared but my mind somehow always wonders back to it.
But I ignore it and shove it to the back of my head.
Today was Saturday and everybody was busy with their own thing so Jay and I decided to have some cousin time since we were the only ones who didn't have any plans.
So he was going to pick me up and we were gonna have breakfast at the café.I put on,
And leave the apartment to already see Jayden waiting for me inside his car so I walk towards him and hop in the passenger seat.
"Wassup, cousin?" I ask, putting on my seat belt
"You tell me, squirt." he says with a smirk on his face
"What do you mean?" I ask, genuinely confused
"Well I don't know. Maybe you could tell how much fun you had dancing with a certain someone, last night?" he says in a teasing tone
I knew he was gonna bring this up! Ugh!
"Yeah I had a lot of fun dancing with you all yesterday. It was great." I say, playing dumb
"You know what I meant, don't you?" he says with a smirk knowing I was intentionally trying to avoid his question
"And you know I'm ignoring the question, don't you?" I say and smirk
Before he could say anything else, we reached the café.
We placed our orders and went to a booth at the corner and sat down.
"Hey Matt, wassup?" Jayden says out of nowhere so I follow his line of vision only to see Matt placing his order and then walking towards us
"Hey, Jay. Hello, precious." he greets as he sits down beside me with Jayden opposite to us
There was an empty seat beside Jay but he chose to sit beside you. My conscience pointed out but I ignored it even though the thought did make me a little curious.
He can sit wherever he wants, It's not a big deal. I try reasoning my conscience.
Whatever floats you boat, sweetie. It speaks again.
I can't believe I'm arguing with my own mind.
"What's goin on in that little head of yours, precious?" Matt asks and I look up to see both Matt and Jay staring at me
"Just thinking about when our orders would come." I say but I know none of them bought it
Just on the queue, our food arrives and we all start to dig in.
"Jay, Uncle Sam called me and told me to warn you that you better score well in the upcoming exams or you'll be stuck studying during summer while all of us have fun." I say with a smirk
"How come my dad calls you more than he calls me? Jay huffs
"Well my dad calls you more than he calls me so I guess we need to take our plan ahead of exchanging our parents." I say and chuckle at the memory
"Anybody care to explain?" Matt asks and Jay and I chuckle at his confusion
"Okay I'll tell you from the beginning. So Jay here wants to be a lawyer like my parents and I want to be a doctor like Jay's parents. And our moms are sisters so we've basically grown up together. Jay is the perfect son for my parents while Jay here thinks I'm a perfect daughter for his parents. And every time we would get into trouble when we were younger, my parents would scold Jay like they were responsible for his bad behavior while Jay's parents would scold me like they were responsible for my behavior. So Jay and I came up with this thought that maybe we should exchange our parents. So we'd be perfect for at least one of them." I explain it to him but whisper the last line
All three of us chuckle at the story but I can see the pain Jay's trying to hide in his eyes while I know he can see the same in mine.
Jay and I wanted to be perfect for own parents but they just never understood us enough.
Jay's parents understood me while mine understood him.
We were happy that our respective Uncle and Aunt understood us and were there for us but we wanted the same treatment from our own parents.
*sigh*
Anyways, our parents are there for us when we need them so that's more than enough."Well what is your plans for studying for the exams?" Matt asks when all of us have calmed down
"Well squirt here is gonna help me study so I'm sorted." Jay says with a grin
"Nope, I'm not going to help you study." I say sternly
"Why not?" Jay whines
"Because you don't study anything and don't let me study either. You end up wasting my time." I say
"Ugh! Fine!" he surrenders
"One hell of cousins you guys are." Matt says and I see him admiring mine and Jay's bonding
I pass him a soft warm smile because something in me told he needed it.
"Guys guys!! Help!!!" we hear screams out of nowhere so we snap our heads to the direction from where the voice came to see....
Ryder!?
