HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?!

Chp 56

I woke up with the delicious smell of bacon and steak. I freshen up and walk down the kitchen to see Uncle Sam, Jay and dad cooking while mum, Auntie Jen and kitty were sitting and watching TV.

My family proved the sayings 'women belong in the kitchen' and 'men can't cook' to shame. Because in my family, the women hardly cooked when the men were around and the men cooked some amazing food.

Uncle Sam and Auntie Jen were going to stay at Jay's apartment but I forced them to stay here and I also made Jay stay. Kitty and I convinced them to stay so we could spend a lot more time together with our puppy dog eyes. That's one thing about my family, they can never resist mine and kitty's puppy faces.

They finally agreed. It's good that my apartment was big enough to fit all of us.

"Mornin, fam!" I greet as I reach the bottom stairs and walk towards the kitchen 

"Good morning, Elly!" Kitty greets and runs to wrap me in a hug

"I feel left out." Jay whines

"Come here, you drama queen." I say, chuckling and he comes and joins kitty and I 

"Family hug!" mum and Auntie Jen exclaim and come running to us, followed by dad and Uncle Sam

We all hug and laugh for a good few minutes then split apart just chuckling and shaking our heads at how insane our family is.

"Breakfast is ready, everybody." dad announces and we all walk to the dining table

Just as Jay and I were about to serve the food, my doorbell rang.

"Who could it be at this time?" mum asked and I just shrugged

"I'll go see." I say and go to open the door only to be left utterly shocked

"Hey there, precious." Matt says with a grin

"What the hell are you doing here?" I ask

"Not happy to see me? I'm hurt, precious." he says faking a gasp and putting his hand on his chest for the dramatic effect

"I invited him." Jay's voice comes from behind me and I turn to look at him

"Huh?" I ask, unsure

"Well Matt didn't have plans with his family and the others of our gang aren't here. He also told me about a promise you made to him about how you wouldn't let him get bored this summer so I thought I'd invite him to hang out with us. Plus, he told me that you talked about our family to him which meant you trusted him enough so I didn't think you'd mind if he was here." Jay says

"I can go back if precious is not comfortable with me being here." Matt says politely 

"No no. I'm completely fine with you being here. I was just surprised. C'mon in, Knight." I say with a welcoming smile and let him in

"And who do we have here, kiddo?" Uncle Sam asks looking at Matt

"He's mine and Jay's friend. All our other friends were out doing their own things and we didn't want him to get bored so we invited him." I tell them all

"And what must your name be, pretty boy?" my dad asks Matt

"Matthew Knight, sir." he says respectfully 

"Myself Jonathan Kent, Kelly's father and that's my wife and Kelly's mother, Alexia Kent." dad says, introducing himself and mum

"Nice meeting you, ma'am." Matt greets my mum

"Please call me Alexia, son." my mum says and wraps Matt in a hug which he returns, a bit hesitant in the beginning but then he looks at me and I give an encouraging smile, and that makes him return the hug properly  

"I'm Samuel Miller, Jayden's father and this is Jennifer, my wife and Jayden's mother." Uncle Sam says and Matt nods in greeting

"Is anyone even going to introduce me?" Kitty huffs in annoyance, making us all chuckle

"And who must you be, pretty lady?" Matt asks, kneeling down to kitty's height

"Myself Katherine Kent, Elly's and Den's amazing amazing sister." Kitty says with a grin making Matt laugh softly

"Pleasure meeting you, m' lady." Matt says and kisses the back of kitty's hand that makes her giggle and Matt smile

"Who knew Matthew Knight could be such a softy when it came to meeting his friends' parents and siblings." I tease

"Only your family, precious." he says, softly so only I can hear but by the look on Jay's face and his raised eyebrow, guess he heard it too

"Can we get breakfast now!" Kitty and I whine together, making everybody laugh

"And this is how I know you guys are related." dad teases

"You had a doubt until now, daddy?" I fake gasp

"We're hurt, daddy." kitty says placing her hand on her chest for the effect

"Such drama queens we have." Mum shakes her head and chuckles

I look over at Matt who's observing everyone with an amused smile on his lips.

"BACON AND STEAK!!" Jay, kitty and I exclaim as Uncle Sam brings it from the kitchen and all of us settle down on the dining table with Matt sitting beside me and kitty and Jay sitting opposite us

"Such loud hooligans in the house." Auntie Jen comments, faking an irritated look

"Aww, you know you love us, Jenny." I say and pinch her cheeks, making her swat my hand away and all of us laugh

"So how long have you known our kids, Matthew?" my dad asks

"I've known Jay for almost 6 years now and I've know precious, I mean Kelly for as long as she has been here in Abu Dhabi which is a couple months, sir." he answers 

"Precious?" dad questions with a raised eyebrow and I tense up

"It's something I called her when I didn't know her name and I guess the nickname stuck." Matt says casually while I become red with embarrassment or was it blush?

"Aww." mum and Auntie Jen awed, making me glare at them 

"Why do you call Elly 'precious'?" kitty asks Matt, quoting 'precious' with her little fingers

"Just how you call her Elly and she calls you kitty." Matt says and then looks at me deep in the eyes, with a smile which makes me smile back

"LET'S ALL GO TO THE BEACH TODAY!" Auntie Jen exclaims, breaking mine and Matt's 'moment'
