MATTHEW'S POV
"Who said Matt was the one who beat the shit out of Jack?" Kelly blurted out with her voice in a challenging tone
As soon as she finished her sentence, mine and the principal's heads whipped to her with I'm pretty sure the shock and surprise evident on our faces.
Why would she say that?
Firstly, she didn't even know why I beat Jack up and still she said the Ashley story which I know was true but I don't understand why she would take my blame on herself.
"You? Fought Jack? Why is this so unbelievable?" the principal asks in disbelief
"Are you trying to say that a girl can't throw a few good punches, Mr. Kingston?" Kelly says with a smirk
"What are you trying to say, Ms. Kent?" the principal said, narrowing his eyes at her
"Matt wasn't even there when I saw Jack forcing Ashley. He came later. When I saw that Ashley needed my help, I went towards them and then pushed Jack away from her. I slapped him tight across his face and punched him in the gut. Then he got mad because I hit him so he caged me with my back to the lockers and punched me in the stomach. I wasn't going to give up so I kicked him in the place 'where the sun doesn't shine' but then he got back up and slapped me across the face and had me caged on the lockers, again. That's when Matt came in and pushed him away from me. By the time he was pushed away, I had regained my energy so I went towards Jack and punched him back to back." she explains
I know not all of it was a lie. The lie started from where she said Jack had gotten up and caged her, again. I know that after she kicked Jack on his dick, she had taken Ashley to the washroom.
"And how does this explain the cuts on Mr. Knight's knuckles?" the principal fired at her
"Matt couldn't fight Jack for me because he had promised you and his father that he wouldn't get into trouble. In fact it was because of him that I stopped beating Jack. He couldn't push me away from Jack because he's a gentleman so he punched one of the lockers really hard and that was what snapped me out of the fight hence, making me stop punching Jack." she lies
I have no clue how she came up with such a believable story so quick.
"And why don't you have any blood on your hand even though you claim to have punched a guy until he was unconscious?" the principal said with challenge in his voice
As soon as he finished his sentence, Kelly quickly grabbed my hand and pressed her knuckles onto my bleeding ones but not hard enough to hurt me.
I was confused at to what she was trying to do.
"Who said I don't have Jack's blood on my hand?" she said raising the hand where she just put blood from mine
To be honest, if I wasn't aware of what had actually happened, I would have been totally convinced by Kelly's story. It was that believable!
"Fine. You have made your points. But Mr. Knight still damaged the school property so he will be in detention until your exams start while you Ms. Kent, I'm letting you off the hook with detention until your exams and a brief call with your parents." the principal declared
"Sure." Kelly said
"You both may leave now." Mr. Kingston said but I was too shocked by Kelly's story to move
Kelly grabbed my hand and made me follow her, out of the principal's office.
The questions were still roaming around my mind.
Why would Kelly take such a huge step for me?
The other day she didn't want to be late to class because she didn't want detention but now she had taken the blame for something she didn't even do and that resulted in her being in detention while her parents get a call from the school.
Why did she do it?
I'm so fucking confused right now!
