HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?!

Chp 50

"Like a shooting star,
Flying across the room.
So fast so far,
You were gone too soon."

"Sup, asses." a voice greets and we turn to look who spoke even though I recognized the person by his voice

Jayden Miller.

"Morning, squirt." he says softly and puts his arm around my shoulder

"Good morning, Miller." I greet back and move his arm away from my shoulder and shift a little to stand my Matt's side who immediately puts his arm around my shoulder to calm me down and I see him nodding towards Jay as if to say 'it'll be alright'

This has been like a thing between Jay and I that every time we're mad at each other, he'll call me 'Kent' while I'll call him 'Miller'.

 "Squirt, just listen to me." he tries again

"I have class, see ya later everybody." I say and walk towards my next class

"What's up between you two?" I hear Zeke ask Jay but I don't stop, instead I go inside my next classroom and take a seat

MATTHEW'S POV

It is killing me to see Jay and precious like this.

Those two are literally like siblings who always put the other one before themselves and seeing them like this hurts me.

Jayden has realized his mistake and I know precious isn't mad at him, she's just hurt and it's justifiable.

I know the both of them are going to be back together like before in no time but until that happens, it's going to be a nightmare for the rest of us because Jayden is going to be unusually pissed and precious is going to be unusually quite.

And the rest of us will be stuck between them.

And the odds decided to be against me so right now I am stuck sitting in the middle of Jay and precious on either side of me in AP Chemistry.

Jay is aggressively kicking the bench while Kelly's just staring at the board. I know none of them are paying attention to what is being taught and are both lost in their own thoughts. I'm unable to pay attention too because of the tense atmosphere around me. 

"Ms. Kent am I boring you?" the voice of our Chem teacher echoes through the class and my gaze shifts to precious who was busy looking out of the window but instead of seeing the tense face that Kelly would normally make because a teacher called her out, she had a bored casual expression which shocked me 

"Isn't everyone bored here?" she says but not in a snappy way

"What are you trying to say, Ms. Kent?" the teacher pushes, a little mad at Kelly's bluntness 

I turned to look at Jay who had the same shocked expression as mine.

Kelly would never tell a teacher that she was bored in their class.

 "I really don't understand the need for us to still stay and attend all the classes when we literally have exams in a couple days. I mean at this point all we have to do is self study and the syllabus is completed from the teachers' side so why are we sitting here and not in the library or some other place where we could sit alone in peace and study by ourselves. Because all I see in all the classes is that the teachers are talking but no one's listening. All the students are busy talking amongst themselves. So what I'm trying to say is instead of wasting our time just sitting and gossiping in the class, we'd all rather go somewhere and study." she explains and the class erupts in cheers and by the look on the teacher's face, she looks impressed too

"I guess you all support what Ms. Kent had to say and I appreciate you telling us. I will make sure that I pass on this message to the higher authorities." the teacher says, shocking all of us

We thought she was gonna scream at Kelly for saying something like this in front of the whole class and scold all of us for cheering and supporting her but guess she wanted to surprise us. And precious does have a way to speak to elders and convince them about how whatever she's saying is the right thing. The teacher probably wasn't mad because of the way Kelly put in her words in a respectful way. If anyone else had said that, we'd all be screwed.

"You're all free to go anywhere in the school campus and proceed on self studying." the teacher announces and people start leaving the classroom as soon as she finishes her sentence 

"Hey squirt, can I talk to you?" Jayden says as we three get up to leave the class

"Didn't you talk enough in the library the other day?" Kelly snaps with the hurt visible in her eyes

"Please." Jayden pleads and the hurt is audible in his broken and vulnerable voice

"Okay. Let's go to the library." Kelly says after letting out a sigh
