"The hell?" I mutter, shocked
There standing in front of me were 9 people standing with their hands crossed on their respective chests.
I stumble a little but balance myself when I see all of them marching towards me.
They were legit freakin MARCHING!
"Why are all of you here, again? I mean I understand I'm an amazing company to have but that doesn't mean you guys can't stay away from me for even four hours." I joke to lighten up the mood but this just results in them glaring at me
"Umm.. okay, what's wrong?" I ask
"You. are. coming. to. the. party. this. Friday." Ly says as she strides towards me with each word
"I thought we were over with this topic." I say, annoyed as to why they can't just leave it alone
"Just say yes to the party and we'll be done with it." Jo says, sternly
I let out a long dramatic sigh.
"Just come once, squirt. For us." Jayden says
"I'll think about it and let you know." I assure
"Promise?" GG asks
"Promise." I say and walk towards the bus stop.
"Let me drop you home." I hear Matt say from behind and I turn to look at him
The others already left and it was just the two of us right now at the bus stop.
"That's not required. I'll go." I say, surprised by the fact that he offered to help me
"I wasn't asking." he states and grabs my elbow lightly and guides me towards his car
The touch did something to my heart. It tingled a little in the area where his hand was.
I was too surprised to protest.
"If you driving me home means I get to sit in that beauty, feel free to give me a lift any day." I say pointing to his Hennessey venom GT making him chuckle
"So what have you thought about the party?" he asks and starts driving once we're both seated
"Are we seriously gonna talk about this?" I sigh
"Come once and if you don't like it then we would never force you to come again." Matt says walking forward with complete sincerity in his blue orbs
"But you all are gonna leave me alone the moment we enter the party and then I won't know what to do." I pout and voice my main concern
I don't why out of everyone, I chose to tell him the reason why I was refusing to go to the party.
"We would never do that, precious." he says with warmth in his eyes
"You don't know. You'll all start having fun and then I'll be too boring of a company." I say
"What if I promise to stay by you at all times during the party?" he says in all seriousness
"You'd do that?" I ask not believing Matt is the one saying this
"Of course." he says with a warm smile
"What is you break your promise?" I ask him like a stubborn kid
"Precious, the one thing that I always keep are my promises. I would never break a promise I made to you." he says and squeezes my hand as an assurance
The mere contact sends tingles to my whole body.
"Please come." he says with a cute pout
Did I just say cute?
"Pretty please, precious." he says making a puppy face which is supper hard to resist
Ughhh
"Okay, I'll come." I say with a smile which results in him having a full grin on his face
"I didn't know I just had to agree to come to a party to make you smile so big?" I tease
"Don't get used to it." he says but I know he's kidding
"I never thought you'd be the one making me agree to go to my first party." I say voicing my thoughts
"And I never thought you'd listen to me." he says
"Well you did make valid points so I had to. I'm the logical kind you see." I say
"We both know you're the emotional kind. You just hide it well enough from people. Sorry precious, but I can read people well." he says and I feel busted
How on earth did he figure that out? Even I didn't know it was true until he said it.
"You're delusional." I say
"Sure." he says obviously not believing me but I leave it at that
"Thanks for the lift, Matty boy." I say when he parks in front of my building and I get out to leave
"Let the girls know that you've agreed for the party." he says
"You do it." I say simply and leave
"Why don't you wanna say?" he asks, confused
"Because if I do then they'll grill me with questions about how I agreed or who made me say yes or whatever." I explain
"So you decide to throw me into the fire?" he says with a raised eyebrow and a small smile playing on his lips
"Yep!" I say with a goofy grin
"Selfish much?" he says but I know he's joking
"Well you know I'm one selfish girl." I say and flip my hair to add the dramatic effect
"We both know you aren't." he states as a matter of fact
"See ya, Knight." I say wanting to change the topic
"Bye, Kent." he says and drives away
I sigh and walk to my apartment with a silly smile on my face. I don't even know why I'm smiling.
