"Who thought you could pull off skirts like that, precious." Matt whistles, coming into the kitchen, making me blush
"What do you mean? Are you trying to say I can't pull off skirts as my outfit?" I ask with a raised eyebrow as I hop on to the counter and start to drink my mango smoothie
I was only teasing him. It was always fun to put him in a tight spot.
"That's not what I meant... It's just that you don't wear skirts that often so this is something new." he says, nervously
He looks so cute!!
"Is that a blush that I see on your cheeks, Knight?" I smirk as I poke his cheek with my finger and he swats my hand away
"I. Do. Not. Blush." he says, stepping towards me with each word
"But you sure do." I say but my voice comes out real soft because of the distance between us
"I'm gonna chop a few fruits to fill my tummy, want some?" I ask him after a couple minutes
"Nope, I'm good." he says and hops on the counter as I grab the knife, a plate and some apples
"What are your plans for the summer, Matty boy?" I ask as I cut the apple in half
"No clue. Everybody's busy with their own stuff and you and Jay were the only ones free but then you guys have your family coming over so now you're both busy too. I guess this summer will pass in boredom and video games for me." he says and shrugs but I see the sadness flick in his eyes
The girls had all gone to their families, Aiden and Ryder had gone to visit their respective grandparents and Zeke has gone to some sort of summer camp.
"Oh c'mon, you really think Jay and I will let you have a boring summer? We'll make plans and enjoy the summer to the fullest. There's no way we'd let you die of boredom, so chill out." I tell him with a grin
"Is that your way of telling me that you care for me, precious?" he says with a smirk and raises an eyebrow
"As if." I say rolling my eyes
Did I care for him?
"Ouch." I wince as the knife makes a cut on my skin and blood starts pouring out
"What happen-" Matt start to say. "Fuck, precious! Couldn't you have been careful!?" he exclaims as he hops down the counter and reaches me in two huge strides and grabs my hand in his
"I was careful, just not enough." I say with a sheepish grin
"I do not find this situation funny, precious." he sates and pulls my hand to put my bloody finger under the tap to let the running water clean my cut
I wince at first but then the pain subsides and the warm water soon provides a soothing effect on my cut.
"Where do you keep the bandages?" he asks
"In my bathroom. Top shelf to the right." I tell him
"Wait here, I'll be right back." he instructs and goes to grab the bandages
Matt comes back within a couple minutes and lifts me by my waist and sits me up on the kitchen counter.
The small contact of his skin with mine is enough to send shivers through my body.
How he has that effect on my body, I'll never know.
"It's just a small cut, Matt. You don't have to get so worked up. I can't even feel any pain." I say and chuckle
"Small cut or not, you should've been careful." he says, sternly
He takes my hand in his and puts the antiseptic cream and then wraps up the bandage on my finger.
He looks up with his face only inches apart from me and his lower body touching my legs, causing heat to spread through my body like wildfire.
"Jay must be waiting for me, Matthew." I tell him but it comes out as a whisper while his hands rest on the counter on both the sides of my thighs
"I couldn't care less, precious." he says, his breath fanning my skin and his hands softly caressing my cheeks
WHAT ON EARTH IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW!?
Kiss him. A voice in me says.
Don't. It'll ruin the friendship. Another voice in my head says.
I see his eyes flick to my lips, stay there for a few seconds and then come back to look deep in my eyes.
My eyes involuntarily travel down his face and pause at his soft, beautifully crafted lips.
