Chapter 8: Recovery

Sakura POV

Y/N's life was hanging by a thread. His breathing slowed, weak. I was scared. I didn't know what to do. The only thing I could do was watch. Naruto and Sasuke worked together to free Kakashi-sensei. 

Sakura: (crying) Y/N! Just hold on! Stay with us! Please...

Kakashi: Naruto. That plan was brilliant. You both have grown. Good job.

Tazuna: (concerned) Kid we need to get out of the way and get Y/N to safety. Over by that tree.

Sakura: Right...

Me and Tazuna-san drag Y/N over to the tree. I lay Y/N's head on my lap. His breathing is getting even weaker and it can barely be heard.

Sasuke: Sakura, stay alert!

Sasuke runs over to me and Tazuna to help protect but, I can't do much and someone needs to look after Y/N. If I wasn't so scared, I could have done something. I'm supposed to be a ninja, yet I couldn't protect them, Y/N especially. I was snapped from my thoughts as both Zabuza and Kakashi-sensei had created water dragons and they collided creating a massive wave around us. Sasuke helps me prop Y/N up so he doesn't drown, supporting him with our shoulders. What was that jutsu? Was that even ninjutsu? I could only stare in awe but, my attention was on Y/N. That face, that hair, those eyes he had, if only they were awake. I look to see Zabuza had crashed on the ground.

???: (chuckles) You were right. He had died.

What? When did this person get here?

Sakura: Kakashi-sensei! Who is that?

Kakashi-sensei jumps from a tree branch and checks Zabuza's pulse.

Kakashi: Yes, he is dead.

???: (bows) I thank you. I have been waiting for my chance to kill Zabuza.

Kakashi: (suspicious) That mask...you're a tracker ninja from the Hidden Mist.

???: Impressive. I must say you are very knowledgeable.

Naruto comes in asking what a tracker ninja is. I'm surprised he doesn't know what that is. I then start to feel a cold feeling. I look down and Y/N's face is getting paler. His life is almost gone.

???: Your friend there is almost dead. Here take this.

The tracker ninja hands us a med pack. We quickly remove Y/N's shirt and I we see his bare body. I start to blush but, it fades as I see the large amounts of blood coming from the huge cut. We clean it and patch him up. Now the only thing he needs is rest.

Naruto runs up the ninja and looks at Zabuza in disbelief.

Naruto: What are you!?

Sasuke and Sakura: Huh?

Naruto: Hey you!

Kakashi: Do not worry Naruto. He is not the enemy. Right now you should focus on Y/N.

Naruto: That's not what i'm asking! That Zabuza...that Zabuza was killed! That guy was killed...easily killed by a kid who's no different from me! We're pathetic! I can't accept that!

He was right but, mostly I was pathetic. The only thing I could do was weep and hide. I was too scared to move, and Y/N paid the ultimate price of almost losing his life. I'm pathetic.

Kakashi: Well I understand your disbelief but, that's just how the world works. (puts hand on Naruto's head) In this world, there are younger kids than you and stronger than me.

The kid then appears next to Zabuza's body and picks him up and get's ready to leave.

Mist Tracker Ninja: Your battle is over for now. I must destroy the body to destroy any secrets. Now, excuse us.
