Book II, Chapter 3: Unexpected Newcomer

Y/N POV

I'm sitting on a hospital bed in Konoha. After my battle with Kuai Liang, I was left severely weakened and injured. While I wasn't going to die really, I don't know why Niichirin had to make seem like I was going to die, Sakura had been on the fritz lately saying I should better take care of myself. I guess she's right on that part but, I have many things to do as I have a clan to take care of.

I had been released from the hospital and I saw Sakura standing by the gate, with an odd look on her face.

Y/N: What's wrong?

She doesn't say anything as she kept peering into distance. I suddenly see a dust trail? I think? Whatever it was, it was coming fast so I pulled Sakura out of the way and the trail stopped. I see that Guy-sensei had Kakashi-sensei on his back? What the fuck were they doing? Seconds later, Naruto and the rest of Team 10 arrive. Well, it was only a few seconds that Lee had came after Guy-sensei.

Guy: Goal! First place!

Lee: And sadly second!

Y/N: What the hell kind of race was this?

Guy: Lee, you need to train more.

Lee: Yes! I will try to make it in first place next time!

Guy: But there is bad news.

Lee: W-What is it?

Guy: Lee, you are not in second place. You are...in third place!

Y/N: (confused) Huh? What were they racing for!?

Sakura: How am I supposed to know?

Guy: Second place is Kakashi, whom I am carrying!

Y/N: (thoughts) Geez, guys giving each other piggy back rides is just wrong.

Neji: Ridiculous!

Tenten: You just can't keep up with their craziness.

Guy: Okay, everyone's here, eh!? Then let us go report to Lady Tsunade right away.

Sakura: (raises hand) Um, Guy-sensei...

Guy: Yes?

Sakura: Kakashi-sensei is...

Guy: Huh? Oh! I guess we should go to the hospital before reporting.

Naruto had told me their mission. Gaara was captured by the Akatsuki and had his tailed beast extracted. He was brought back to life but, at the cost of Elder Chiyo's life. A shame a life had to be lost. Sakura had also told me a clue that Sasori, the person she was fighting, had left for them. That Sasori was to meet with a contact of Orochimaru. Finding Orochimaru brings us a step closer to where Sasuke is.

Naruto: Oh? He's awake!

Kakashi: So I'm back here again.

Tsunade: (walking in) Good work, Kakashi. (looks to me) Y/N, it was a shame that Sub-Zero wasn't able to be captured.

Y/N: Sadly. He was a formidable opponent.

Kakashi: Lady Tsunade. (struggles to lean up)

Sakura: No, Kakashi-sensei! You shouldn't push yourself.

Tsunade: I examined you earlier but, you should be in bed for about a week. It will take a few more days until you can return to duty.

I look over to see Naruto trying to lean a bit to his side to see what Kakashi-sensei looks like without his face. While I am curious too, I know what boundaries are. Sakura then notices and it is obviously pissing her off. Considering what Naruto had told me yesterday, she's grown insanely strong. Well, at least I know is to not piss her off.
