Chapter 38: The Date

Y/N POV

I awaken from my slumber, feeling the warmth of the sun, passing through the window that wasn't covered by mt curtains. My pink-haired beauty rests her head on my chest, peacefully sleeping. I stroke her hair and watch as it passes through the gaps between my fingers. How does she stay beautiful without even trying?

She groans and lifts her head. She looks around before looking at me and smiles. I lean down and kiss her forehead and she blushes. She looks away and I chuckle. I get up from the bed and stretch. I look back over to Sakura, who was sitting on the bed, rubbing her eyes. She gets off the bed and makes her way to me. She traces her finger across my exposed chest, going over the lines of my six-pack and the giant scar. She has a solemn look on her face as I guess she remembers that day. I cup the side of her face and I have her look up at me. I lean down and peck her lips then kiss her cheek. She brightens up again and she heads to the bathroom to ready herself for the day.

I leave the room and look through the fridge. I take out some bacon, sausages, and two eggs. I prep the frying pan over the range and I start to cook the eggs first. I did a normal sunny-side up for the both of us. I then cook the bacon and the sausages and I set them aside on a plate. She comes out of my bedroom and tosses me a shirt to cover myself with. We sit down and start to eat. It was then I asked her a question.

Y/N: Hey, so how about we have a date today?

Sakura: A date? Today? Really!?

Y/N: Yeah. It's alright if you don't want to go on one.

Sakura: (nods happily) I would love to! What time?

Y/N: Hmm. How about at around 4 PM today?

Sakura: Sure! (looks at clock) I better go. See you later, darling!

She had finished her food and got up and planted a kiss on my cheek. She leaves me alone and I couldn't help but smile to myself. I've really changed since then haven't I, huh? I had a few errands to do today before the date so I got ready and put on my gear.

I first had to drop off my katana and tanto over by Tenten's. She noticed that my blades were getting dull the other day so she offered to sharpen them for me. Then I had to go around the market and purchase some more groceries for dinner what not for tomorrow. As I walked around the village, I ran into Kiba.

Kiba: Oh? Hey Y/N!

Y/N: Oh, hey Kiba.

Akamaru jumps down from Kiba's head and runs over to me. I lean down and start to scratch his neck. Akamaru wags happily and thumps his foot.

Kiba: So, where ya headed?

Y/N: Over to Tenten's.

Kiba: (sly grin) Oh, did she ask you on a date? (winks and nudges me)

Y/N: No, she just offered to sharpen my blades as they have been getting dull.

Kiba: (unconvinced) Yeah, sure she did. (normal tone) Got any plans for today?

Y/N: I still have to head to the market to pick up some groceries. Then later today Sakura asked me to...help her with something.

Kiba: (suspicious) Hmm. Alright then. (cheery) Welp! See ya later!

Kiba walks off and I continue on to Tenten's home. I walk up to the door and Tenten answers. I hand her my blades and she told me to come around in a few. I told her I was going to the market and she nodded. With that, I left and went to the market and started to pick out the things I need.

When I arrived, some of the prices were a bit more expensive than the last time I was here. When did things get so expensive? It usually wasn't a problem. When did the stock get reduced? I decided that I was going to hold off on buying vegetables for tomorrow. I walk around the village to pass the time. I had walked around for a good two hours so I went back home. I looked at the clock as soon as I got in and I saw that it was around 3:30 PM. I immediately left for Sakura's home and I had passed by Naruto earlier today. He said he was going to be training and look for someone with "pervy sage." When I looked to who he was referring to, he was referring to one of the legendary Sannin, Jiraiya. Never thought he would be a pervert.
