Chapter 33: Final Round-A Failure Triumphs

3rd POV

A month had passed and the day had finally come for the final round of the Chunin Exam. Many people are seated in the stands, awaiting for the sounds of battle to start. All that's left was for the contestants to show up. Later on, Temari, Kankuro, Gaara, Shino, Shikamaru, and Neji had arrived at the arena. The only contestants missing were Y/N, Naruto, Sasuke, and the Sound ninja, Dosu.

With Y/N

Y/N and Hanzo were still sparring for quite awhile. In Earthrealm, it is dawn.

Hanzo: Shouldn't you be making your way to the arena?

Y/N: I still have time till my match. One more time, father. Please.

Hanzo: (gets into stance) Very well then. Consider this your final test. Show me how much you have learned in this one month time span.

The two then clash once more as the NetherRealm is starting to be filled with the sounds of battle.

With Naruto

Naruto is now seen running throughout the village being chased by bulls. Eventually, Naruto comes flying through the arena entrance, completely confusing everyone.

Shikamaru: (thoughts) This guy sure knows how to make an entrance. What an idiot.

Shikamaru props him up but, Naruto gets out of his grasps and starts to flail his arms around.

Naruto: Guys run! You won't believe me but, there's a huge herd of stampeding bulls coming this way!

Shikamaru: (confused and puts hand on hip) What? (unconvinced) Yeah, you're definitely right. I believe you.

Naruto: But I'm serious! There must be a million of them right now...(looks around)

Naruto looks around to notice that a few people weren't there but, aside from that, everyone else was already here.

Naruto: (looks around) Huh? Where's Sasuke and Y/N?

Shikamaru: I'm supposed to be fighting Dosu but, he ain't here too.

Proctor: Hey, you two. Quit your fidgeting. Stand up straight and present yourselves to the audience.

Naruto: Huh, oh...

Proctor: You guys are the heroes of this final competition.

Up in the stands-Third Hokage

Hiruzen: So there's no sign of either Sasuke or Y/N?

Leaf Shinobi: No. A team if Anbu Black Ops are still searching for them, but so far we haven't found anything. (whispers) Sasuke may have fallen into Orochimaru's hands. As for Y/N, we can't say. I heard that some guy named Quan Chi is looking for him. If that's the case, we may never find both of them.

Hiruzen: Have you heard from Lord Raiden or Jiraiya?

Leaf Shinobi: Nothing yet.

Hiruzen: I understand. (notices someone walking) I see you have made it. Welcome, Lord Kazekage.

Back down in the arena

The Third Hokage had walked up to the edge of the railing and was preparing for a speech.

Hiruzen: Welcome all, to our deepest thanks for coming to Konoha for this year's Chunin selection. The final competition between the last nine competitors who made it through the preliminaries. We ask that no one leaves until all the matches have been completed. Now, everyone please enjoy.

Proctor: Oh, there is one thing I would like to say before we get started. (reaches into vest and pulls out paper chart) Look it over. There has been a slight change in the matchups. Now that it's set, everyone please make sure you know who you'll be facing.
