Book II, Chapter 18: Sasuke's Trail

Y/N POV

I was paired with Sakura whom Kakashi-sensei had sent a pair of his summoning dogs with us. The ones who went with me were Poney and Green. Sakura had rather not travel with Cornelia and Tsukushi. She didn't trust them well enough. The only people she did trust were Ibara, Mira, and Poney.

Green on the other hand was fine. She was relived to see that he was actually a guy, just as I have been saying, but anyway, that's not important. The important thing was that we had split up to cover more ground to make it easier to look for Sasuke or Itachi. Who would've thought that I would be hunting down two rogue ninja just to find the other one. While the main goal is to find Itachi, our separate goal was to possible capture Sasuke.

Poney: So Naruto is the target?

Green: Why are they after these chakra beasts?

Y/N: As for the plan on why they are after the beasts, no one knows. At least, not yet.

Sakura: To get to Sasuke-kun, we have to capture Itachi Uchiha.

Y/N: His older brother.

Green: Why did he slaughter his entire clan again?

Y/N: No one really knows. The secret died with the Third Hokage.

Poney: Will Naruto be okay?

Y/N: He'll be fine. Besides, he's with Hinata, who he should really notice her feelings for him, and they have Captain Yamato, a Jonin class ninja.

Sakura: It is worth noting of Hinata's Byakugan.

Poney/Green: Byakugan?

Y/N: A Kekkei Genkai that the Hyuga clan posses. I'll explain those by showing you much more detailed texts that father had shown me when I was younger.

Ninja Hound 1: Will you kids shut up? We're near a scent.

Y/N: Eyes peeled everyone.

Elsewhere-3rd POV

Sasuke's new found group, Taka, had consisted of Karin Uzumaki, Jugo, and Suigetsu.

Suigetsu: Well, I'm going.

Jugo: Itachi Uchiha, eh? I hope we can find him.

Both Jugo and Suigetsu leap off to different areas in order to scout out for Sasuke's brother. Alone with Sasuke, Karin had started to feel something else.

Karin: (thoughts) All right! (normal) Sa-su-ke! I'm staying with you!~

Sasuke: (annoyed) You too. Get going.

Karin scoffs to herself and takes off in another direction.

In A Town

Y/N and co., were walking on a dirt path that was leading into a town. Sakura had her arm wrapped around Y/N's in order for them to not stand out. Green and Poney were acting like they were siblings, in a way they were.

At the same time, they were discreetly looking for any clues, scents, or anything that could lead them to the Leaf ninja rogue.

Sakura: We should go an a date you and I sometime. The last time we went on one was before you left.

Y/N: If we have time. That's if I'm not too busy.

One of the dogs halt and the others stop in their tracks.

Sakura: What's wrong?

Ninja Hound 1: I caught a whiff of Sasuke Uchiha's scent.

Poney: Where!?
