Chapter 26: Match ups

Y/N POV

Sakura's match had finished a few seconds ago. While I was getting some odd looks from Naruto, Lee, and everyone else because Sakura was resting her head on my shoulder, I didn't really care. She needed this. The board starts to cycle through the names again and pick Tenten who was apart of Team Guy and Temari of the Sand. If I remember correctly, she is teammates with that Gaara guy. The two female kunoichi walk both walk forward to the judge.

Neji: So the second one from the Sand has come up. This will be an interesting match.

Lee: (enthusiastically) You can do it Tenten! Wooooo!

Sakura starts to stir and awaken. She looks to her left and she sees Ino, smiling at her but, also telling her to look next to her. She does so and she locks eyes with me. When she realized how I got her and had her head resting on my shoulder, her face went red. I chuckle a small bit and I stood up to watch the match. I could still hear their conversation behind me though. But as they were talking, I could hear Guy-sensei and Lee constantly shouting. Mostly things about youth.

Ino: It looks like you finally woke up Sakura. You even woke up next to a certain someone.

Sakura: (gasp)

Ino: Our match is over.

Sakura: (keeping in tears) Did I lose?

Ino: I'm the one who needs to cry. To think I would tie with someone like you. 

Y/N: So what if you lost or tied.

I could feel Sakura's and Ino's stares burning on my back, listening to what I have to say.

Y/N: Even if you did lose, I'm sure your teams would be proud. You both tried your best and that's what matters. (looks to them) You guys may have even started a new friendship. 

They both smile at my response. Ino hands Sakura her forehead protector and they both stand up and Sakura went and stood next to me and Ino went to her respective team.

Sakura: (whisper) So, your not disappointed?

Y/N: (whisper) It didn't matter if you won, lost, or tied. We would have been proud of you either way. You have come far, is what I'm trying to say.

Sakura: (whisper) Why do you have to be so sweet? I love you.

Y/N: (whisper) I love you too, pink-haired beauty.

Hayate: The fifth battle, Tenten, Temari, please step forward. (They step forward) Begin!

Tenten steps back. Is she trying to analyze her opponent? Considering she's from the Sand, she must be skilled with wind-type jutsu.

Hayate: What's wrong? Please begin.

Temari: (grins) Are you planning to wait out and see how I make my move? I'll tell you this, once I start my attack, this'll all be over in a second. (takes a step forward) You're trying to be cool and try and see what I do first. Your a hundred years too early! It doesn't matter, come at me!

Tenten: Now you said it. I won't hold back!

Tenten jumps into the air and throws three shurikens in the direction of Temari. In a split second, I see her shift her hand but, it had seemed she didn't move at all as the shurikens fell to the ground.

Tenten: I missed!? Impossible!

Temari: What was that? Was that the warm up? Are you scared or is your aim off?

Y/N: That was strange.

Naruto: How?

Y/N: In a split second, Temari had shifted but, it looked like she didn't even move a muscle.
