Chapter 5

"What did he do, Ali?", Jaden asked facing me completely. I was not sure to tell him or not. It would tear our group apart. When we made that rule to not have relationships within the group made sense to me now. But I couldn't keep this for myself. What would it hurt to tell Jaden? "H-he cheated", I spit out and look at my hands. "Aliyah, look at me", he said. I looked up at him and the tears were streaming down my face. "Are you serious?", he asked. I could tell he was angry. I slowly nod and my breathing started to shorten. "Why didn't you tell Anthony?", he asked. "I-I'm scared he would do something a-and", I started but my voice started to crack. "Of course he would do something, you're his sister. And if I'm honest I'm furious at the moment", he said grabbing my hands, "we both hate to see you hurt and you don't deserve this." My breathing slowed down a little bit. "P-please don't tell the group", I said looking up at him again. "Why not?", he asked frowning. "I-I don't want the group to be against him, you guys are his friends too", I said slowly. "I can't promise that Ali, this is just wrong", he said, "he hurt you and you are here, crying your eyes out. And he is doing what? Having sex with another girl. He doesn't care about you, he needs to know what he did." "I know that Jaden, I know! I don't want any of our friends to choose between us. I still love him", I said raising my voice at him, "just let me talk to him." "We're just looking out for you", he said looking at me. "I know", I said. "If he says anything to you tomorrow, I can't promise you I'm gonna stay silent", he said raising his eyebrows. "And please tell Anthony", he said lifting my head with his finger. "I don't know, Jae", I said shaking my head. "He doesn't believe your story about you 'mutually' breaking up", he said. "I already thought that, but I'll think about it", I said.

He nodded his head and stood up. "Okay, let's go", Jaden said. "Where are we going?", I asked. "Out", he said grabbing my hands. "No, I don't want to", I said pouting. "Nop, no discussion. We're going out", he said pulling me up. "Nooo", I said whining, "I need to fix my hair and clothes." "I'll let you change, but we are leaving this house", he said. I looked at him squeezing my eyes. He did the same and we stood there for a few minutes. "Fine", I said huffing and he started to smile. "Hop on", he said turning around and offering me a piggy ride. I took the offer and jumped up. He caught me and walked me upstairs. I rested my head on his shoulder and smiled a bit. He walked me to the bathroom and set me on the counter. He stood in between my legs. "I'll get you some clothes and you fix that what you need to fix", he said chuckling. "What?", I asked smiling. "In my opinion you don't need to fix anything, you look beautiful even if you cried the whole night", he said blushing a little bit. "Thanks Jae", I said chuckling at his shyness. "Now hurry up", he said walking out smiling. I smiled and hopped off the counter. I turned to the mirror and I was disgusted with myself. I looked awful. I quickly brushed my teeth and did everything else. A few minutes later Jaden handed me my clothes and I got ready. As I was done I looked at my outfit.

I walked out of the bathroom and let out a chuckle. Jaden looked up from his phone and smiled. This outfit was typical Jaden. It was his sweater I stole a long time ago and I guess he found it in my closet. "Really?", I asked chuckling. "What? It's a cute sweater", he said throwing his hands up in defense. I shook my head smiling and grabbed my phone. "Ready?", he asked standing up. I nodded and he grabbed my hand. "Let's go", he said dragging me out of the house.

Jaden took me to the mall, and we got out of his car. "Why are we here?", I asked joining his side. "Shopping always makes you happy, and that new shoe store you've been talking about just opened", he said. "No way?", I said excited. "Yes way", he said smiling. "We need to go there first", I said smiling. "Yes ma'am", he said tipping his imaginary hat. We walked in and immediately a few supporters walked up to us. We took pictures and asked if we could shop in peace and they let us. We walked off and went to the shoe store. I saw the shoe I wanted for months now, but never had the balls to buy them. After contemplating to buy them or not I decided to just do it. I walked up to the cashier to pay them. The cashier put them into a bag and handed them to me. I looked at him weird because I haven't paid yet. "I still need to pay", I said chuckling at him. "No your boyfriend already paid", he said looking at Jaden who stood outside calling someone. "He is not my boyfriend", I said chuckling and looking at Jaden. "Well he is a really good friend then", he said smiling. "Yeah, that for sure", I said smiling back at him, "thank you." They guy nodded and I walked out. Jaden just hung up the phone and I stood in front of him. I just frowned at him and he looked down at me. "What?", he asked chuckling. "You didn't have to", I said holding up the bag. "I felt like it. And you deserved it", he said putting his arm around my shoulder. I looked up at him and frowned. "Stop looking at me like that", he said looking straight forward. "Thank you", I said smiling. "You're welcome", he said smiling. "I'm not forgetting this tho", I said. "Owh I know", he said chuckling.

We stayed at the mall for about 2 hours and just looked at some clothes. Before we left we went to McDonald's and got food. We went to the beach and sat there. "Thanks Jae", I said eating my fries. "No problem", he said looking at the sea where the sun started to set. "I mean it. Thank you for taking my mind of things", I said smiling at him. He looked at me and smiled. "I'll always be there for you, don't forget that", he said looking serious. "Same for you", I said giving him a serious look back. We both started to laugh and ate the rest of our food. We stood there for an hour and talked about some stuff. Jaden and I never got bored or it never got awkward. I could never get tired of talking to him. When we were done we got all our stuff and threw it away. We walked back to Jaden's car and started to drive home. We were playing music when I got a call. It was Avani. I turned the music down and picked it up. "Hey Vani", I said. "You guys need to come home, now", she said seriously. I heard yelling on the background and immediately recognized the voices. Anthony and.... Payton. "What is going on?", I asked. "Just come home, please. Anthony is about to lose his shit", she said with a shaky voice. "Yeah... we'll be there in five minutes", I said tearing up already. "Okay, hurry please", she said before hanging up. This was exactly what I didn't wanted to happen.

"What's going on?", Jaden asked looking at me. "Payton is at our house... and I think Ant knows", I said tearing up. "It will be fine", he said grabbing my hand, "we're almost home." I nodded and hold on to his hand. After a few minutes we arrived, and I got out of the car fast. I opened the front door and saw them standing across from each other. "How could you do that to her?!", Anthony yelled at Payton. "I know! And I'm sorry, okay?!", Payton yelled back. The tears started to go down my cheeks. "Did you tell him?", Payton asked looking at me. I shook my head and my breathing became unsteady. "Why didn't you tell me?!", Anthony said walking up to me raising his voice. "P-please calm down", I said looking down at the ground. "No, I'm not going to! Did he do something to you?!", he yelled standing even closer. I shot my head up and shook my head frantically. "Bro, I would never do that!", Payton yelled at him. "Do NOT 'bro' me!", Anthony said turning towards him. He walked closer to him and I could tell Anthony was hitting his breaking point. "I never wanted to hurt her, you know that! And I hate myself for it!", Payton yelled in his face. "I don't care what you say, you are dea- ", Anthony started. "Don't finish that sentence Ant, you don't mean that", Jaden said standing behind me. "I do, he is dead to me!", Anthony yelled pushing Payton. That's when it all started to get out of hand. Payton didn't do anything and just stumbled back. "What? You don't have anything to say now? Huh?!", Anthony said pushing him again. "P-please stop", I said as tears fell to the ground. "Babe calm down please", Avani said grabbing his hand. Anthony shook her off and stepped closer to Payton. "Ant, let's not do this. It's hurting her more than me", Payton said looking up at him. "Don't say anything of hurting her, you hurt her first!", Anthony said pushing Payton again. "I know that, okay!", Payton said yelling at him. Anthony just looked at him and before I knew Anthony punched him right in the jaw. Payton fell back on the ground and Anthony hovered over him. Anthony never gets aggressive and it was scaring me. I was sobbing to this point and just wanted everything to go back to normal. "Ant, please stop!", I said yelling at him. Payton didn't hit Anthony back and just let it happen. Just make it stop! Please!
