Chapter 19

"I don't know Ali, but I talked to her just an hour ago", Jaden said, "she said that you can call her if you want." Then I got a text message from Jaden with Samira's number. "I need to tell Anthony first", I said looking up from my phone. "Yeah, of course", Jaden said standing up. He helped me up and we went back to his car. The car ride was really silent. I got more nervous every minute we came closer to Jaden's house. When we arrived we went in and I walked to our room. I knocked on the door before coming in, knowing Avani was here. "Hey Ant, we need to talk", I said walking in, Jaden right behind me. Jaden closed the door and I sat on the bed. "What's up?", Anthony asked sitting up. "I guess 'mom and dad' weren't lying", I said looking down. "What do you mean?", he asked frowning. "They're not our parents", I said looking up at him. "How do you know?", he asked. "Samira told my parents that you guys are hers", Jaden said sitting next to me. "Our aunt Samira?", Anthony asked confused. I nodded and Anthony frowned. "I talked to her earlier and she said I could tell you. She gave me her number so you can call her", Jaden said. "And I wanted to do it together", I said looking at Anthony. "Uh... yeah, let's do it", Anthony said. I knew we were both really confused about this situation. I was also scared to talk to her again. We haven't seen or talked to her for about a year now.

I dialed the phone number and put it on speaker. After a few second she picked up. "Hello, you're speaking with Samira", she said. "H-hi, it's Anthony and Ali", I said nervously. "Oh.... I didn't think you would call that soon, but hi", she said shyly. "We're sorry we didn't call earlier", Anthony said. "It's fine, I'm glad you called", she said, "maybe we can Facetime?" "Yeah", I said. I switched the call to Facetime and we could finally see her. She looked different. She colored her hair. It used to be brown and now it's blonde. "You guys have grown", she said smiling at us. Both Anthony and I smiled back at her. "So... I guess Jaden told you?", she asked. "Yeah, just now", I said. "Okay... I just want to say that I never wanted to let you guys go, because I love you guys so much. But...", she started. I could tell she was sad and it made me sad. "Why didn't you tell us?", Anthony asked cutting her off. "I was pregnant when I was 15 and I had you when I was 16. As you know your grandparents weren't really the nicest. And they didn't want that kind of bad publicly on the family. So Lisa and Brett were already together and of a 'decent' age to have kids. And your grandma forced me to give you to them", she said explaining it, "Lisa always said she couldn't get pregnant, so that was another reason." "But wait. Mom... I mean Lisa said she is pregnant now", Anthony said frowning. "Wow... that's just great...", Samira said.

We talked for a long time and she explained everything. Apparently our 'parents' told her that she would expose her if she ever told us or anyone. She also told that they tried to get rid of me a year ago. That's what the argument was about. They wanted Samira to take me and live with her, because I wasn't the perfect daughter they wanted. They just wanted Anthony. Samira said she didn't want to do that, because she didn't wanted me and Anthony to split up. We also talked about what we've been doing and what happened a few weeks ago with Lisa and Brett. She told us she is currently working on her own make-up brand and mainly modeling. She has a boyfriend and she still lives in LA. "Maybe we can go for lunch next week", she said. "Yeah, I would love that", Anthony said. "Me too", I said smiling. "I'll let you guys know", she said smiling, "let me know if you need anything." "We will, bye", I said waving. "Bye", she said and hung up. It stayed silent for a couple minutes before Anthony hugged me. I didn't want to cry, because I already did that enough today. We stayed like that for a few minutes and eventually pulled away. Anthony shot me a smile and I gave him a smile back. "Can Avani sleep here?", Anthony asked with a shaky voice. I could tell he was on the verge of crying. "Yeah, I'll sleep in Jaden's room. If that's okay with you", I said turning towards Jaden. He nodded and I stood up. "Goodnight", I said. "Goodnight", Avani said giving me a smile. I smiled back at her and Jaden opened the door. I walked in front of him, starting to tear up.

I really didn't want to cry, but I was overwhelmed. I sat on Jaden's bed and put my head in my hands. Jaden closed the door and kneeled in front of me. "It's okay", he said putting his hands on my knees and rubbing them with his thumbs. I looked up at him and the tears were rolling down my cheek. "Come here", he said standing up and pulling me up. I wrapped my arms around his waist and bury my face in his chest. I let out a breath and he pulled me closer. "I-I just don't know what to feel or think", I mumbled in his chest. "I want to be happy, but I-I", I stuttered. I really didn't know what to say. Knowing that Anthony felt confused too and that our so called parents have been lying to us our whole life. And I know Samira did too, but I feel like she didn't had a choice. "Let's go to sleep, we'll talk tomorrow, okay?", Jaden said pulling away. I look up at him and nodded. He cupped my face and wiped away the tears. He gave me a little smile and kissed my forehead. After he let me go I didn't change and just went underneath the covers. Jaden took off his hoodie and laid down next to me. I moved over to him and laid on his chest. He was playing with my hair and it made me sleepy. Soon I fell asleep and tried to clear my mind.

~ Jaden's POV ~
I wake up and feel someone weighing on me. I slowly open my eyes and look down at the girl, Aliyah. She was laying on my chest and was breathing slow. She is so cute when she sleeps. I started to play with her hair and just look at her. She is such a kind soul and deserves the world. I hope her and Anthony can have a better life now that they know everything. I feel Aliyah's hand go around my waist and pull herself closer. "Mhhm", she mumbled with a little smile on her face. "Good morning", I said smiling. "Morning", she mumbled. She still had her eyes closed and didn't notice I was staring at her. "Stop staring", she mumbles. Never mind. "Sorry", I said blushing. She looked up at me and smiled. "Hi", she said. "Hello", I said smiling. She moved up a bit and buried her head in the crook of my neck. She was now fully covering me and I didn't mind at all. "What time is it?", she asked whispering. "Uhm", I said looking at my clock, "7 am." "Mhm", she mumbled. I could feel her breath on my neck and it made the hairs on my arm stand up. I know we said we would take things slow, but I can't deny what I'm feeling right now. She makes me happy, she always has, but it was so much stronger right now.

After cuddling for twenty minutes Aliyah kissed my neck and moved off me. "What are you doing?", I asked pouting. "I need to pee and I want to shower", she said smiling at me. I nodded and grabbed my phone. She took some of her clothes and went to the bathroom. It was Sunday and I knew nobody was up around this time. I was hesitating to go into the bathroom and shower with her or not. Maybe she doesn't want to. But I want to... Ah fuck it. I put my phone down and grabbed some clothes from my closet. I walked to the bathroom and saw it was unlocked. Lucky me. I slowly opened the door and I see Aliyah under the shower. Our shower has this blurry stuff so you can only see someone's head clear. She looks my way and smiled a little bit. "Can I join?", I asked putting my clothes down. She just nodded and started to blush. I took of my clothes and stepped in. Our eyes locked and I just wanted to kiss her right then and there. I walked up to her and wrap my arms around her naked waist. She put her hands in my hair and neck and smiled. "Thank you", she said breaking the silence. "For what?", I asked as our foreheads touch. "For telling me and being there for me and Ant", she said closing her eyes. I looked at her and pulled her closer. I connected our lips and she kissed me back. I knew this was not what we should be doing, but I couldn't resist her. "Jump", I said breaking the kiss and she did as I said. She lets out a giggle and connects our lips again. Only one thing kept coming to my mind. I think I'm falling for my best friend.

Today was a sunny day for me, but I'm sad. TikTok is probably getting banded in the US, so that's great... (note the sarcasm). I don't know what to do with my time now.
