Chapter Twenty Seven

Akito felt her fingers twitched and her heart unsettled for some odd reason. She turned around to peer at Kira who was currently in a deep slumber.

For a few more minutes, Akito had felt uncomfortable since she felt as if someone was talking about her and Kira.

She brushed it aside while crawling over to her sister taking hold of Kira's hand.

Akito had been in better moods, but for once, Kira wasn't. The elder sibling having felt it had summoned her back home immediately, not liking the way it made her hardly sleep. She did not need to say anything and ordered that Kira's duties put on hold for a while.

Since Kira's choice to speak to Akito again, months ago, the pair had not hesitated into resuming their closeness. They were near to being back to what they used to be, except neither of them was close to mending the other part that desperately needed to be confronted in due course.

The one change, however, was that Akito had felt a stir within her sister's heart. For once, Akito who was always being protected by Kira had the desire to be the one to return it.

Akito was losing her will to continue and lie to her sister and hide the secret that she knew for a long time. The issue was that Akito feared if she told Kira the truth, she'd really hate her.

"What's wrong, sister?" Kira's voice dragged Akito out of her thoughts and her eyes widened in shock as she looked down. However, she let out a sigh of relief to see that it was Kira just sleep talking.

Akito leaned forward and placed a kiss on her forehead," Have good dreams, Kira," She whispered before she got up and left the room to let her sister rest.

Shigure who was leaving Hatori's, after speaking with him saw Akito. However, he did not approach her, because he had already been set on heading to a certain room, where the other, family head was currently asleep.

When he entered the room, he saw Kira slowly get up and turn his way. Though, for some reason, her eyes and expression seemed distant.

"Shigure, you are here" Kira voiced lovingly and Shigure smiled as he walked over slowly.

"Yes, I came to see you, Kira," He said softly while standing next to her and placing his hands on her cheeks as he made her look up to him.

"When will you finally wake up from this trance? What is stopping you?" He said as he slowly frowned.

Kira did not respond as she slowly leaned into his hand and smiled before closing her eyes and going back to sleep.

"It will happen, Shigure, we can't rush this," Kureno's voice suddenly came from behind as Shigure laid her down.

Shigure's eyes clouded as he ran a hand through Kira's hair," Will the day really come?" He asked strongly with an unadorned expression," I just want things to-

"Only in due time" Kureno cut him off as he tilted his head to see Kira before letting out a sigh.

It had been 15 years since Kira's accident that led things to turn complicated. The unfaithful day had caused Shigure to compulsorily swear to break the curse because he felt as if it was the main reason for their current and ongoing impediment.
