Chapter Eleven

Later that night, Kira had found herself climbing on a ladder, heading to the roof that she always found herself the most solace. Her and Akito always had this feeling inside them after their intimate affairs.

No matter how painful it was, they just felt it was the only thing that was holding them from losing it. Unknowing to them that it was only ripping apart their hearts that needed healing-one that was broken and shattered from continuous exploitation of seeking comfort with the ones that only deepened the infidelity.

When Kira reached the top, but she stopped in place seeing Kyo sitting on the roof with a rice ball in his hand. He took a moment to notice her and when he did, he dropped his food, making it roll down the slanted rooftop.

Neither of them was able to say anything for a few moments, but Kira felt her foot being indented by the ladder and she grunted in the feeling. She let out a breath and moved up the ladder to get on the roof properly, but she paused turning up to him.

"You won't jump off, if I come up, right?" Kira said slowly before actually moving further than she already had. Kyo shook his head and straightened his back and he swore he could fill the hairs on his nape standing.

Kira grunted as she unceremoniously moved herself to get on the roof properly. She stood up and let out a breath of air feeling a bit sore from her activities from earlier.

"Why did you and Akito make me live here?" Kyo suddenly said cornered at the silence that was suffocating him.

"It was really Akito who suggested it, I just went along with it, since I really do not care where you are," Kira said bluntly as she walked over and sat next to him.

Kyo would have felt offended at her words, but it was probably relieving to him that she is still the same from when they first met. She barely cared to look his way, not out of disgust, but clear uninterest at who he was.

In fact, he knew that she had this same feeling towards Rin, Ayame, Hiro and Kagura. He saw it whenever they were around when he was with Kazuma at the main estate.

Though he was not entirely confident to assume that, but at least the one thing he knew he liked about Kira was that she did not care about who he was.

He was the cat and she's seen his true form. She did revolt at the smell-which was a very normal and natural response to the smell of rotting, but she did not degrade him and just kept the same stare of vanity she always wore.

"Right..." Kyo mumbled and faced forward to look towards the sky. He had a million questions to ask, but he knew better to try and ask Kira.

"I know about the deal you made with Akito" Kira suddenly said making him turn to her with widened eyes.

He was not entirely sure how to respond to it, considering that he along with the other family members all knew the estranged relationship they had-but then he remembered a few words from Kazuma once.

"They can fight, they can try and hate-but, nothing can ever sever their bond. But I am simply an outsider, I might just be entirely wrong"

It was a conversation between Kazuma, Shigure and Hatori when they were at the main estate to train the other kids. Kagura had gotten hurt from training, so that was the reason that Hatori was there and Shigure was there because he was watching over Kira who was currently having a fight with Akito who was clinging onto Kureno.

Kyo had somewhat of an understanding to the heads being close to Shigure and Kureno-though this was the first time he's seen it reversed since it was usually Akito clinging onto Shigure.

When the word got out about Akito and Kira's big fight-not one that Kyo and any of the younger ones understood was about, but it was when it only confused him more about how the reversed closeness came to light.

Akito and Shigure were alike just as Kureno and Kira were-that was when it clicked.

"Kyo," Kira called out to him for who knows how many times.

The male finally responded and turned to her after snapping out of his thoughts.

"I'm sorry, did you say something?"

Kira chuckled lightly and tapped her wrist that had a watch," It's time we head in, it's getting late"
