thirty-seven: For You.

WHEN they arrived to JJ's, the blond got out and so did Kai, standing next to him. "Home sweet home." The boy says, still fiddling with the strings on his backpack. "Do you want me to come with you? I can even ask Kie... you know we're here for you." Kai says, grabbing JJ's hand gently.

"No..." JJ turns to him, "this will only take a second. Promise." He said and leaned in, kissing his boyfriend's cheek gently before walking away. JJ looked back and Kai just sent a smile of encouragement towards him.

JJ nods before turning back to the front door and Kai sighed, getting back into the car. "Is he okay?" She asked him and Kai nods. "It's JJ... he's always okay because he doesn't want us to worry." He sighed and looked over at the girl.

When JJ got into the back of the car, Kai and Kie both look back at him as he sat in the middle. "How'd it go?" Kie asked and he holds the keys. Kie drove off as JJ glanced up, seeing Kai didn't turn back around yet and the black haired boy frowns, reaching over and taking JJ's hand in his when he saw the blond's slightly red eyes.

Kai had turned back around at some point and they were on the way to the dock. "Woah, woah, woah..." JJ says when he saw cop cars and they pass by as Kai kept his head down. "They're still looking. It's a good sign." Kie says, wanting to reassure herself and the two boys in her car. "Yeah." Kai nods. "And the Phantom will get them out of here." JJ says as he held up the keys to the boat.

At the docks, JJ opens up the garage where the Phantom was. "There she is. Hey girl." JJ said as he walked over to the trailer. "A 1983 Formula 402 SR1." The blond says as he pulls the cover off the front of the boat. "The Phantom." He stared at it with a small smile on his face.

He looks over at Kai and Kie who both give quiet reactions, Kai raised his brows and Kie shrugs softly. "The first boat to make the run to Bermuda in under 16 hours, guys." JJ then explained to them. "Forty years old! Forty." He looks over.

"If you love her so much, why don't you marry her?" Kai said with a sarcastic tone and JJ looks over, snorting. "Well, duh, I'd rather marry you. I guess." He shrugs to play long with the boy's teasing and Kai rolls his eyes, smiling softly. Kie chuckled at the two, "it's kind of a junker." She says.

"Really? She's right there, Kie." JJ says as he gestured a bit to the boat and Kai looks at Kie, nudging her. "Yeah. Don't disrespect JJ's future spouse." He whispered to her and she just chuckled, rolling her eyes at the two boys.

"I just hope it runs." She says as they go over to set the trailer up with Kie's car. "Oh, no, she'll run, alright." JJ said as Kai helps him set up the trailer with the car. "Pope! Finally." Kie says when she heard tires screeching as a bike comes to a stop. She walked along the boat, "hey, there. What's going?" It was Rafe, not their friend.

"JJ? Kai?" The two boys stop and look over to see Rafe. "How you guys doing?" The Kook asked and jumped up onto the boat. "Whoo-hoo!" They turn the other way to see that drug-dealing asshat, Barry. "Well, well..." The two of them surround the three teens and JJ was about to do something but then Barry cocks a gun, raising it.

JJ raised his hands as Kie stood behind Kai, "see, don't think I forgot about me and you on ths side of the road. I'm here because I want my motherfuckin' money." Barry said and began hitting JJ. "JJ!" Kai rushed over but Rafe grabbed both him and Kie, holding them back from Barry and JJ. "That's what I'm here for!" Rafe shouted and pushed JJ down onto the hard ground.

"It's not you two we want, alright? Where's John B?" Rafe said, pushing Kai back. "We don't know!" Kai shouts, keeping Kie behind him. He didn't want the asshole's slimy hands on her. "Come on! Tell me!" Rafe shouted at the Pogue.

Kai just shakes his head. "We know what you did... you murdered Peterkin!" He shouted and Barry caught that, glancing up before looking back down at JJ on the ground. Rafe grabs Kai's arms suddenly, pulling the boy closer and Kai tried to push him off as Kie also tried to help. "Don't you wver say those fucking words again." Rafe had a glare on his face and Kie tried to push him away but he shoved her the other way. "Rafe." Kai said, trying to push him off, grunting softly.

"Do you understand? Where the fuck is John B?" Rafe asked and Kai shakes his head. "I don't fucking know! Get off of me!" He shouted. Pope ran up to Barry, hitting the man on his back which caught his attention, turning to him as JJ got up, shoving Rafe away from Kai who went over to Kie, pulling her up. "You okay?" He asked her, worriedly and she just nodded. "Just a scraped knee." She whispered to him and looked over at Pope who was fighting Barry at the point who had dropped his gun and Kai grabbed it right away, raising it.

He pointed it towards Barry first, cocking it. "Leave!" He said loudly and Barry ran off quickly. He looked over to see JJ had gone too far, a cord around Rafe's neck. "JJ!" He set down the gun and rushed over to him, pulling JJ back, Rafe's face is red as JJ dropped him, realizing what he did.

"Okay, we gotta go..." Kie said and rushed to the car with Pope following behind him. "Stay off the cut. And don't touch Kai ever again." JJ said and Kai grabs his arm. "Let's go." He whispered and JJ went over to the car with him.
