𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐲

fifty-five: In C.H.U.D.

      

     IN THE car, the three were discussing about whatever evidence that C. Limbrey person had, Kie was sitting in the driver's seat as Kai sat in the passenger seat and JJ was in the middle of the back seat. "Look, if Limbrey's legit, then Ward gets arrested and maybe Sarah gets the gold." Kie tells the two as they noticed the front door opening and a woman walking out with Pope and the man from earlier.

"Does that look voluntary?" Kai asked, looking over at Kie, then at JJ. "Keep walking." The man shoved Pope. "That would be a negative." JJ says and Kai looks at the three. "Okay. Come on." Kie was about to get out. "Wait, hold on, hold on." JJ stops her. "What?" She says.

"They're going into the alley." He says, still watching them lead their friend away. "Go around back?" Kie said and Kai nods. "We'll meet them on the other side." He tells Kie who now shifts the car into drive before driving off. As they drove, Kai looked to the side and JJ did the same. "Where did they go?" He asked as Kie glanced over. "Don't see them?" She asked and he simply shook his head.

"What if they went underground? Because in C.H.U.D., when they took prople down into sewers, it would turn the humans into humanoids 'cause of the radiation." JJ rambled on about C.H.U.D. as Kie is confused while driving, glancing at him through the rearview mirror as Kai is focused looking out the window. "And then all of a sudden--" "J, just focus." Kai cut him off. "And that doesn't make any sense." Kie added afterwards. "Right. Sorry, did you see him?" JJ now asked Kai who just shook his head. "No..." He says.

When they found a way inside, they got there at the perfect time, Pope was fighting with that man. JJ ran over to them, kicking something towards Kie and Kai. Kai bent down to pick what appeared to be a taser up. "Come on!" Kie shouted, waving her hand.

"Pope! Pope! Come on!" JJ said and the boy got off the man, punching him one more time. "Come on!" Kie shouted as JJ helps Pope up. "Go! Just leave him! Leave him!" He says as the man laid, groaning on the ground. Pope runs to the wall, jumping over with JJ right behind as Kie and Kai run out through the gate door, jumping into the back of the car together.

JJ and Pope got into the front seats, "go, go, go!" JJ said as Pope turns on the engine, "who were those people?!" Kie exclaimed. "We're getting the hell out of here." JJ said as he looked at Pope. "That was crazy as shit, let's get out of here now." He says, drifting as he spun the car aorund to drive off down the alleyway.

It wasn't long after when a car began speeding after them, most likely that man that was fighting Pope. "I think he's following us." Kie said, looking behind so Kai glanced back as well and saw a car following behind them.

"This is a one-way." JJ says. "Go left, go left." Kie says, holding onto the back of the passenger seat. "It's a one-way!" Kie says loudly. "I know that!" Pope exclaimed and turned down the other road, right as two people crossed the road. "Get out of the road!" JJ yells at them.

"Those were people! Jesus Christ!" Kai exclaimed at Pope. "He's still following us, guys..." He says next, looking behind them. Pope turns down an alleyway, thinking he would lose the man but the car slows down. "Hey, woah, woah, hey, what?" JJ said and leaned over. "How are we low on gas?!" He exclaimed at Pope.

"Damn it!" Kie says as the car comes to a stop. "Okay, what now?" Kai asked as they all got out of the car. They grabbed their backpacks from the trunk of the car just as the man arrived into the alleyway. "We gotta go!" JJ says, handing Kai his backpack. "Go!" Kie shouts.

The four ran down the alley, JJ grabbing Kai's hand as they ran, glancing back. "Guys, I think he has a gun!" Kie shouted. "Shit, get down!" JJ shouts as Kai turned back, "you go in front then!" He told Kie, pulling her forward as he ran behind her now. "Come on, Kie!"

"Hey, JJ! Kai! Pope! Kie!"

Kai swears he imagined the yells as he kept running with Kie in front of him. "I think I'm cramping!" Pope exclaimed. Once they reached the end of the alleyway, they run to the left. "We might have to split up!" JJ shouted back to the other three behind him.

He bumps into a guy holding packages, "woah! Jesus! Shit!" JJ exclaimed but kept running. "Sorry!" Pope and Kie shout, apologizing for JJ. "Sorry about that!" The blond quickly apologized next, looking to the front.

They run down a narrow alleyway next, Kai glancing back before running behind Kie. "Okay!" Kie panted as she ran behind the other two boys ahead of her and Kai. "Guys, he's right there! Go, go, go!" JJ shouted to them.

"He's gaining! Let's go!"

"I am going, Pope! You guys gotta keep up." JJ said and when they reached the end of the alleyway, they stop at the sidewalk and there they were, John B Routledge and Sarah Cameron. They stood there, staring for a while before John B finally spoke, "get in! Get in! Come on!" John B says and Kie got into the cart being pulled by the bike as Pope, Kai and JJ pushed the cart, running.

"Pedal faster, John B!"

Three people were chasing after them, "oh, my God!" Kai exclaimed. "Go, John B, go!" JJ shouted as they helped push the carriage. Kai got to get into the cart, sitting with Kie and Sarah since there was space for them as JJ runs up, getting on top of it, standing while Pope was still helping push the cart.

All of them kept shouting when Pope fell but quickly got back up, "come on, Pope, let's go!" John B shouts as Kie held out her hand for Pope who quickly got onto the carriage, panting as the man reached out for them.

"See you later, alligator!"
