𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐲

fifty-eight: Feelings.

     

     AFTER DISCUSSING what to do, after all that, the teens decided to wait for Pope and Kie, whenever they might come back. They tried getting some sleep, but both pairs stayed up, paranoid over what happened.

"J?" Kai whispered when they're laying in bed side by side. "Yeah, baby?" JJ yawned softly, looking over at his boyfriend. "Are... you okay?" He asked hesitantly. "Yeah, I'm golden. Why?" JJ says and Kai just sighed.

"I just... feel like we don't bother discussing our feelings sometimes. And I wanted to know if you were okay after what happened. I mean, just like, a couple of inches... And you could've been shot." He says and JJ shakes his head. "No, I-I wasn't even thinking or feeling anything about that. Why? Did you?" He asked, glancing at Kai who furrows his brows.

"JJ... the scenario of you dead played in my head as soon as I saw it. Call me paranoid, or worried, but... J, thinking that something that terrible could happen... sucks. Especially about someone you love and care about so much." He said, tears welling up in his eyes. "Well, it didn't hit me, okay? I-I'm okay. And I think we should be more grateful for that." He says, raising his hand to the side of Kai's face.

"Right?" He says when he saw the other not even looking up at him. "Yeah, I suppose you're right." Kai whispered and looked up. "I'm sorry... I'm just, you know, overthinking. And fuck, J, if I were to ever lose you, I think I'd go crazy without you. I can't live without you, you know?" He raised his hands to either sides of JJ's face, caressing his cheek.

"I feel the same way about you, Kai..." He whispered and Kai leaned in, kissing the boy gently as tears streamed down his face. JJ laughed suddenly, pulling away. "What?" Kai said, slightly confused as he stared at his boyfriend. "Just, nah, nothing... Well... I was just thinking it was weird you were crying while we kiss but that should be something I'm getting used to by now, considering everytime we--" "okay, okay, okay, you can stop talking." Kai said as he puts his hands over JJ's mouth, knowing what he's talking about.

JJ smiled, staring into his boyfriend's teary eyes before raising his hands and wiping away his tears. He pushed Kai's hands away gently and leaned in, kissing right under Kai's eyes. "Stop crying over silly things like that. Like over me." He laughed softly and Kai rolls his eyes. "I can't help it, JJ... I'm in love with you." He whispers and the blond just stared at him.

He leaned in once more, this time their kiss deepened as Kai's arms go around his neck, kissing back passionately. "I'm in love with you too, baby." JJ whispered as they pulled back for some breath and then JJ went to kissing his neck, pulling him closer.

"Come on, love birds. Pope and Kie might be on their way back soon since it's morning..." John B said, knocking on the door of the room where the two were laying under the covers, they didn't sleep even after... well, you know.

It didn't take long for them to get ready however, grabbing their backpacks. They stood outside and waited, Sarah had this anxious look on her face as she is sitting down and John B was holding her hand, caressing the back of it. She must be so scared after last night.

When Kie and Pope got back, they jog to the dock. "Finally. Hey!" JJ shouted, beginning to run as Kie picks up the pace as well. "Guys, don't tie up." JJ calls out to them. "Stop it!" Kai shouts as they reach the ramp. "What?" Kie says, confused as JJ and Kai get near. "We're dipping." JJ tells the two. "Wait, why?"

"What? What are you talking about?"

Sarah and John B follow not long after with Sarah's arm over John B's shoulders. "Where did you guys go? What happened last night?" John B says and Kai looked at Kie with a look on his face. "We slept on the break. What's up?" Pope says and JJ looks at him. "Slept. Right." He says, patting Pope's shoulder.

"We were up all night." He says as Pope looks at Kai who mouths a sorry for that. "We gotta get the hell out of here." John B says as Kai and JJ got into the boat. "Rafe knows we're here, so we have to leave, like, now." Sarah explains. "Okay." Kai says as Sarah gets into the boat. They went off immediately, trying to find anywhere far from the Chateau to be safe.

"Look, if Rafe and Barry know, it's only a matter of time." Sarah says. "Before everyone knows." Pope says as Kai glanced down and JJ scoffs. "I told you. We should've gone south, man." He says to John B who looks at him.

"Just stop it."

"Why does no one ever listen?" JJ exclaimed loudly, turning to them then back to John B. "I get it. I get it. I understand." He says and JJ walks off, sitting down beside Kai who just puts an arm around him. "I have an idea." Sarah says and they all look over to her.

"With me back, my dad's going to have to choose between me and Rafe." She says making them stare at her as John B walks towards her. "Sarah, Sarah--" "He's gonna choose me." She says, sounding sure of it.

"Just please listen. Ward keeps lying to you, Sarah." He says and she glanced down. "Sarah, he's not gonna agree after everything that's happened." Kie explained to the blonde girl. "No. I... I know it sounds crazy." She says. "Yeah, it does." Kiara added after that.

"I know!" Sarah exclaimed. "But he's my dad. And I know him, and I know he loves me." She says before looking at John B. "I'm just asking for two hours." She tells them as she glanced to Kai and JJ. Clearly, they all didn't want to agree with it, just for her safety. And theirs.

So then she got up, adjusting her hair before walking away, past John B. No one said anything until John B turned around. "Sarah." He said and the girl stopped to wait for him as Kai looked at JJ with a worried look on his face. As John B spoke to Sarah, Kai leaned against JJ's shoulder and watched as Sarah left on the boat and they stayed there to wait for her.
