𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐲

seventeen: Distraction.

   

     KAI and Pope run off the other way only to see Topper and Kelce coming from that way. "Hey, hey." Topper says as he made his way over. "Just chill out, Topper." Pope says as he backs away.

"Yeah, that was some nice work you did on my boat." Topper says as he pointed and Pope, behind Kai, shakes his head. "I don't know what yoh mean." He says to the Kook. "Oh yeah, of course you don't." The other sounded angry. "Not so burly without a gun now, are you?" Rafe said to JJ who was standing side by side with Kai, Pope behind them. "You take one more step, I'll rip that prepubescent face off." JJ said. "Hey, Pope, do you feel good about yourself stealing shit? Is your mom proud of you? Is your dad proud of—" Topper is cut off when Pope pushed Kai out of the way gently and he headbutted the Kook who was closer to them. "Attaboy!" JJ cheered him off.

"With your first, like this, alright?" JJ said to him as he went towards Kelce who tackled him, Pope going over to Topper as Rafe and Kelce both gang up on JJ while Kai took this as his chance to run off, heading towards where Kie and Sterling were. "Hey, hey, what's going?" Kie whispered as Kai rushed to grab JJ's backpack. "T-Topper, uh, K-Kelce and Rafe, fight, JJ and Pope, behind the screen." He pointed and Kie stood up quickly, grabbing something she was gonna use to help.

The two ran over to the group, Kie running over to help Pope by hitting Topper. "Let go of him! Facist asshole!" She shouted but Topper got the upperhand by grabbing the bag she was holding and Kai reached into JJ's backpack, seeing the gun but not wanting to touch it. Topper had an arm around Pope's neck, threatening him, Rafe had grabbed Kie, and Kelce was still holding JJ.

He digs through JJ's backpack some more before finding the boy's zippo lighter. He crawled over to the screen right away, grabbing a hold of it and igniting the lighter. He held it there until the screen caught on fire, he crawled back over to the backpack and put the lighter back into the pocket he got it from. "Get away from them! Rafe! Get your hands off of her!" He shouted at them and the Kooks back away from the Pogues, in shock of the fire that had interrupted the fight.

Kie went over to Pope, helping him up as Kai went over to JJ's side, "hey, you okay?" He asked worriedly with a hand to the blond's shoulder. "Y-Yeah, yeah... I-I can't believe you started a fire!" JJ laughed, grabbing his neck and pulling him into a hug. "I'm glad you're okay..." Kai said as he hugged the blond back tighter.

"Hey, can I spend the night at yours?"

At Kai's, the dark haired boy sighed as he flipped to lay onto his back. "Hey, everything okay?" JJ said as he suddenly sat up and Kai moved to hold himself up with his elbow. "I don't think I am the only guy that Sterling is seeing... Maybe you were right. Yeah. Say you told me so..." He said and went to lay back down onto his back. "I... told... you... so?" JJ said, sounding quite unsure.

"No! I didn't want you to say it." He groans as he puts his hands over his face and JJ rolls his eyes. "Hey, know what we can do as a distraction from that?" JJ asked with a wide smile and Kai smiled. He knew what JJ means by that.

It means getting high. So they did, Kai sitting side by side on his bed with the window open, a towel laid along the bottom of his door as they smoked a joint together. "Hey, isn't this great?" JJ said with a smile as he looked at the other.

"Yeah, definitely..." Kai smiled, nodding before he glanced over at JJ. He got lost in JJ's blue eyes staring into his before JJ leaned over slowly, glancing down for a couple of seconds before looking back up into Kai's eyes.

Then he leaned in, closing the space between them. His lips pressed against Kai's and for a while, the world stopped. Everything seemed to fade away and all Kai could focus on was this kiss. Nothing else in mind, not Sterling or that Kook guy, not that stupid no Pogue-on-Pogue macking rule, not even the fact he's kissing his best friend. His best friend who he's known since he was eight. A boy he met eight years ago and he's really close with.

But that didn't stop him, at all, from kissing back and raising his hand up to the side of JJ's neck. Their lips moved so perfectly in sync before Kai laid down and pulled JJ down with him. JJ hovered over Kai, pulling back and kissing down Kai's neck, sucking on the skin gently.

Kai pushed his head back, sighing heavily as he closed his eyes and JJ pulled back away, attaching his lips to Kai's once more. The blond settled between the dark haired boy's thighs, bringing the boy's hips closer to his. The tension builds up even more as Kai tangled his fingers into JJ's hair, tugging gently onto the hair.

Kai moved to lay on his side, JJ also going on his side as they face one another in bed, continuing their make out session. It went on for quite a while as they felt each other up, their hands exploring one another's bodies until Kai pulled back and went for JJ's neck this time. JJ's hand went up to the back of Kai's neck, which went to the front as he pushed Kai back and connected their lips again, this time more harshly and passionately.

Kai kissed back, his face all hot as he realized JJ's hand resting against the front of his neck. Eventually the two stopped and just cuddled into one another, not even sharing a word as Kai closed his eyes, still feeling the little buzz of being high before he began to fall asleep a bit slowly. JJ did the same, his chin on the top of Kai's head.
