𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐲

seventy-one: Druthers.

AFTER GETTING back from the police station, the girls and Kai sat outside on the porch when the boys began shouting cheerfully from inside. Sarah glanced inside, looking at them, cheering on for the fact her dad was going to be arrested now for murder.

"Do you regret it?" Kie said, noticing the look on Sarah's face. "No." She shook her head, "he deserves all of it, and I know that." Her voice faltered a bit at the end. "He's your dad. I get it. Well, I-I don't--" Kai cut himself off and shook his head. "What I'm trying to say is I'm sure it sucks to be in the middle..." He told the blonde girl who glanced at him, smiling softly.

Her phone begins ringing as she glanced down, picking it up. She looked inside, at the boys, "sorry." She says faintly to Kie and Kai. "Yeah..." Kie said then looked at Kai, sighing softly. "I don't really have an opinion since I hate my dad and don't want him in my life, but... I feel bad." Kai whispers and Kie sighs.

After her call, Sarah asked the others if they can head to her place and of course, they said yes and headed to there. On the way, multiple cop cars speed past, "shit." Kie says as she looks at the others. "Oh, my God. Can you please hurry? I need to be there for Wheezie." Sarah said and John B drives even faster.

"You think I wanna miss this?" He says and apparently his words struck a nerve as Sarah looked at her boyfriend with a displeased look on her face. He glanced at her, not seeing a problem with his words as he doesn't apologize, before looking back at the road.

When they get there, they got out and ran to the fence, looking over. "Pope, I can't see." JJ pushed him down as the other four watch the cops running towards the docks where the Druthers was. "Okay, well, now I can't see." Pope complained back to the blond.

"Screw it. I'm going over." John B said and lifted himself up, grunting. "Right behind you. Kai, come on." JJ said and knelt down, clasping his hands together for Kai who goes first, after him is Kiara who Kai helps. Sarah is next who Kai also helps before grabbing JJ's hand when his boyfriend jumped over to him.

They run towards the house where Sarah ran to her younger sister, "Wheezie." She says and went to embrace the girl. "Go inside. Don't come out." She tells the younger before they began making their way over to the dock.

"Dad!" Sarah shouted as they ran down the long pier, John B, Sarah, JJ, Kai, Kiara and Pope. "Hey, hey, you gotta let us through." John B says as they walk past the cops with their hands up except for him and Sarah. "That's Sarah Cameron. Let her through!"

"What are you doing here, Sarah?" Ward shouted as they got to the end of the dock. "Dad, what are you doing?!" Sarah shouted back to her dad, sounding terrified. "Vic, you gotta get her out of here! She can't be here right now!" Ward shouted, sounding angry. "Just come on in, and you-you-you can talk to her!" Shoupe yelled, gesturing to Sarah.

"Sarah, I'm so sorry, baby. I can't!"

"What are you doing? Dad, no, no, no!"

"Ward, this ain't gonna end the way you want it to!" Shoupe shouts to the man who turns to look at them. "You don't need her seeing this." Police boats circle around the larger boat. "No, dad, don't leave! Where are you going?" Sarah shouted with tears brimming.

"I love you!"

Now, Kai didn't know what the fuck was going on, but he knew it wasn't gonna end well, mostly for Ward Cameron, actually. "Turn it around and get back here!" Shoupe yelled. "Please don't leave!" Sarah shouted, she shouted for her dad to come back.

And then, an explosion errupts on the boat making Sarah gasp. Kai looked at her as they were all taken back from it. Sarah just stared at the aftermath of it, her breathing becoming heaved. "No. No." She cried out. "Dad. Dad!" Her shouts become even louder.

"No!" She gasped hard for air, "no! Dad!" She sobs and then, for comfort, for any sign of empathy, she looked to John B. Who's just staring at the exploded boat, not reacting and Kai shook his head as Topper came running to Sarah's side as she broke down, letting out even louder sobs, reaching out.

Topper held her as she cried and John B finally looks at her, glancing to his friends. Kai notices the glossy look in Kie's eyes, grabbing her arm and she puts it around his waist, stepping closer to him. She puts her head against his shoulder, a frown on her face as she felt for her friend and Kai rubs her back gently.

It's understandable from John B's side, that Ward Cameron did kill his dad, but he didn't have to go and ignore her girlfriend who's literally sobbing, wailing over the loss of her dad, and at that? Also enjoying that he's dead.

After the group left, parting ways from Sarah, the ride back to the Chateau is quiet. When they get there, they go their separate ways. John B to wherever, Kie to the livingroom couch where her stuff were, Pope to the kitchen as Kai headed into the bedroom. JJ followed him and walked up to him, putting his arms around Kai's waist as he stood behind him.

They're quiet, they don't need words. But Kai knows after seeing what they saw, JJ feels bad for how he's been acting with him. And Kai shows that he also feels back by raising his hand to the side of JJ's face that's rested over his shoulder. "J, I didn't mean to keep so much from you. Stuff has just been so..." Kai trailed off and JJ nods softly. "Crazy... I know," he whispered and Kai slowly turns around in his arms. He looked up at JJ who's staring at him.

Only him. He leaned in, kissing him gently before pulling back. "Let's take a little nap." He whispered, raising his hand to the back of JJ's neck and the blond just nods. "I wanna be little spoon though." He whispers.
