𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐲

twenty-five: Jealous.

POPE walks into the kitchen making JJ and John B look over at him as Kai makes himself a sandwich. "What'd she say?" John B asked before tossing a bottle of water to Pope who catches it swiftly. "That you're an idiot." He answered.

"It's a no-brainer. You're picking Kie." JJ said as he grabs the things Kai was done with after finishing his sandwich, opening the fridge door to put them away. "Look, I can't make a decision." John B said as Kai turns around, taking a bite into his sandwich. "So what? We're just dead in the water because you're pussy-whipped?" JJ asked.

Kai snickers. "Pussy-whipped," he clears his throat. "But, uh, he's right. We can't do this without Kie, and you know it." He says as he pointed at John B. "And I can't do it without Sarah." John B says as he looked back at Kai and JJ. "Okay? They both have to be in on it." He adds, looking at Pope now who's been quiet, staring at the floor.

"Well, good luck with that." Pope says, going over to the fridge. "You kkow what? I know this was my fault, alright? But it's our problem." John B says as he walks away and Kai sighs. "Switch." He whispers to JJ, grabbing the beer and handing the sandwhich over to his boyfriend who had no problem with it, taking a bite out of the sandwich. "I've got a plan." John B says, now standing in the doorway of the kitchen as Kai drinks the beer.

"And you three shitheads are gonna help me out." He said, pointing and Kai raised his hand to flip off the boy. Turns out John B's "plan", was just stranding Kie and Sarah together on a boat that stopped working so they have absolutely no choice but to talk to each other and make up.

So, the next day, the plan was set into motion. "Code red!" Pope says as Kie walks over. "What the hell is going on?" She asked, climbing down. "Okay, JJ and John B conked out in the marsh. They need a tow." Kai said as Kie turns to him.

"Oh, okay, well, what does that have to do with me?" She asked and Kai holds out his hand to her. "We need you for mechanical." He says and she nods, stepping into the boat with her hand in his. They walk over to Pope. "Mechanical." Kie says to herself as Pope now backed up and went off in the direction of the marsh where the boat was.

"John B and JJ are up in the Alp." Pope says as they got up next to the boat. "Can't you guys do anything without me?" Kie said as she climbs aboard onto the bigger boat. "What happened?" She asked and JJ looks up. "Uh, the alternator's, uh, not alternating anymore." He said to her.

"It's not charged." John B simply explained. "Did you check the plugs?" Kie asked as she walks in. "No. No, you should check 'em." JJ said as he and John B both got up. "Yeah." John B agreed. "Yeah. Give it a whirl." JJ says. "You guys are useless." Kie said as she kneeled down. "Sorry about that." John B says as he and JJ walked out.

"Come on, come on!" John B says quietly before he and JJ runnto jump off the joke. "Uh... is this a joke? There's no plugs, like, at all." Kie said then noticed them jumping off the boat.

"Shit!" She got up quickly. Once Kie and Sarah discover they're both left alone on the boat, they stand at the edge of it. "Guys! Are you serious?!" Kie called out to them. "Are you joking?!" She shouted as John B and JJ climbed into the Pogue. "Get your asses back here." Kie shouts.

"We can't. Not till you two figure it out." John B shouts. "I will kill every single one of you! Even you, Kai!" Kie said angrily. "S-Sorry." Kai nervously called out and Kie groans. "Y-You can't just leave!" Sarah shouted next. "There's food in the cabin and JJ rolled a blunt." Pope shouts.

"Hydroponic!" JJ shouts. "Godspeed." Pope shouts as they drove off before the girls could even jump off the boat and swim towards theirs. "Love you guys! Bye!" JJ shouted to them.

Later that night at Kai's, he and JJ smoked some weed as they laid together in Kai's bed. "Are you sure about wanting to be together?" Kai suddenly whispered and JJ furrowed his brows, confused as he looked at the boy in his arms. "What?" He says and Kai looked down. "Are you sure you would want to be with me?" He asked.

"Yeah. What makes you think I don't?" JJ says as he looks at his boyfriend in the eyes and Kai shrugs, looking away. "I-I don't know... like all this time, I always figured you only were into girls and then we got high... and you know, you kissed me." He blushed, looking up at JJ again.

"I mean... I always thought so too... But then, I-I don't know, I would see you with that Kook and... I don't know, I'd get... jealous?" JJ says, confused as he looked down then back up. "Jealous? You were jealous of Sterling? Is that why you didn't like him that much?" He asked and JJ chuckled. "Other than the fact he's a Kook? Yeah, pretty much." JJ nods and looked at Kai in the eyes.

JJ reached up, cupping Kai's jaw gently and Kai's face heats up before he pulled JJ closer, bringing the joint up to his lips before bringing it over to JJ's lips, both of them holding in the smoke before letting out the smoke. JJ pulls Kai into a kiss, caressing his cheekbone with his thumb.

Kai tilted his head to the side, taking out the joint onto the ashtray on the bedside table as he put his arms around JJ's neck. JJ put his arms around Kai's waist, pulling him closer and Kai got closer until he was pretty much ontop of JJ. The blond pulled away, staring into Kai's blue eyes, "wanna go to sleep now?" He whispers and Kai shrugs. "I guess so..." He whispered and moves to lay down next to JJ who turned to lay onto his side.

Kai smiled when JJ moved to lay so his head was in Kai's neck. The dark haired boy reached up, running his fingers through JJ's blond hair as he closed his eyes, falling asleep to the blond boy rubbing his back gently with one hand.
