Finally, Dani figured out where she might just find the marauder's map.
"Nothing, nothing, more freaking nothing," Merula stomped her feet on the wooden floor of Alex's room. "Where could this map even BE?!"
"For all we know, it could be anywhere in Hogwarts," sighed Dani.
"We'll graduate before we find it!" complained Merula.
"It doesn't stop here, if Alex has it-" suggested Bill.
"It's in the vault!" exclaimed Dani.
"Great, another dead lead," Merula moaned.
"OR he could've hid it somewhere during his travels," Bill thought.
"Which means-" began Dani.
"IT COULD BE IN ANY F*CKING PLACE IN THE WORLD! AGH!" Merula groaned loudly.
"Stop acting like a kid and think, Merula," Bill disapproved.
Dani looked around the room. "Alex was here when-" A memory flashed into her mind. One from three years ago, in the great hall.

"Tell us more about the vault squad."
"They had this girl, Olivia Green, from Ravenclaw, and a boy, Duncan Ashe, from Slytherin."
Dani was shocked by the last word. "There was a SLYTHERIN in his group?"
"Yep."
"And where are they now?"
"Olivia graduated last year, and Duncan... He's a ghost in the prefects' bathroom. Forget recruiting him, he hates showing his face."
"You mean he's DEAD?" gasped Dani.

"THAT'S IT!" said Dani. "I'm heading to the prefects' bathroom, and I'm having a chat with this Duncan..."

"Did someone call?"
A lanky ghost who looked about Dani's age showed up out of seemingly nowhere. He saw that the bathroom was near-empty, save for himself and one other person. "Now, now... I'd recognize that face anywhere. You're Alex's little sister!"
"I just wanna-"
"Well, your brother and his stupid erumpent potion ruined my life, so I'm not letting you ruin my AFTERLIFE!" He floated out of sight.
The marauder's map was still out of reach, and time was ticking. Fast.
