"Thanks fer returnin' Fang in one piece, Dani," chuckled Hagrid. "Mission accomplished?"
"Totally," said Dani. "And I may or may not have found something related to the cursed vaults."
"What?"
"Some old piece of parchment. I'm gonna ask Rakepick about it in DADA tomorrow, I think I have an idea what it actually is..."

"SCABBERS!"
The rat bounded into Percy's hands. "Thanks a million, Dani! Where did you find him?"
"That's what was weird about all of this. I found him right outside the door of the first cursed vault. Has he been behaving strangely lately?"
"Uh... No."
"OK, but tell me if anything comes up with him. And get a leash or something. Next time he shows up somewhere strange, I'll take him to Rakepick."

Finally at the great hall for dinner, Dani spotted Charlie and Jae enjoying their sandwiches with Ben. Dani also sat down there with them, and Charlie said, "We were just telling Ben about all that hubbub with Scabbers."
"And I think that just confirmed something." added Ben in fear.
"What?" Dani asked.
"I always thought that rat had something to do with-well, remember what happened to me at the beginning of second year?"
"How could I possibly forget? And don't worry too much, Ben, you're not the only one who thinks that way. I'm telling Rakepick about all this in DADA."

"Hm... Interesting. Very interesting." Rakepick, who was now alone in her classroom with Dani, now turned her focus to the old piece of parchment in the 15-year-old's hand. "Ah, yes, I think we've found it." She took out her wand and pointed it to the parchment. "I solemnly swear that I'm up to no good."
Inky black words appeared on the parchment, which confirmed what Dani was thinking.
