Chapter Twenty-Five

"Alvin hurry up already we are going to be late" Xander calls from outside as I punch in the code to the house alarm system.
"In a minute" I call out. Dad,Xander and I were going to my engagement party at the villa. The kids had already left with Valentino yesterday hence where already there. I had refused to go with them opting to change from here.
After I check everything and make sure all is in place I shut the front door and make my way to the SUV were dad and Xander are already waiting. "Took you long enough" Xander says as he raises a brow at me in question.

"Yeah well I'm the bride to be I can be late all I want" I say as dad chuckles.

"Whatever can we just go already, I need to get laid tonight man,You and Valentino have being going at it for weeks and I'm sick of your happiness really" Xander literary whines rolling his eyes at me.

Shaking my head at my brother i turn to give a curt nod to Luca whose just smiling at us in the drivers seat as he is our designated driver slash bodyguard for the night.
Dad simply shakes his head at his older son's antics.

"About time you found yourself someone too Alexander" dad says from the front seat as he looks at Alex through the mirror.

"Look whose talking old man" Xander fires back as dad visibly stiffens in his seat trying to discreetly glance at Luca who literary goes red in the face trying to look inconspicuous.
I turn to glance at Alexander to see if he noticed Dad and Luca's tension only the idiot seems more interested in his tuxedo jacket as he blushes off invisible dirt.

I snort as my eyes trail back to my father who just clears his throat and looks through the window to the passing trees.

Well. That was unexpected.

Did I miss something? Did something happen between the two? Come to think of it dad has been awfully happy these days. His always smiling and laughing more. Well,whatever the case I hope he keeps his happiness.

"Let him be Xan,If he is happy then that's a good thing not so,happiness is all that matters in life" I say looking at my own band that has been a constant reminder this week of my own happiness.

The twins took Val and I's engagement well no surprises their,Ares gave us both a hug then threatened to kick Valentino if he ever hurt me then made us promise to invite Jasper to our wedding. Yeah, Ares is one strange kid indeed.
Angel may have squealed and run around the house announcing to every single one of Valentino's men how her family is finally going to be complete. Her reaction simply made me realise just how much i had been depriving my kids of there father's presence in their lives. Sure they both spent time with him but it was always divided. Dad and Xander where just as thrilled saying it was a long time coming.

The rest of the drive is spent in idle charter between the three of us,Luca joining in from time to time. By the time we pull up to the huge gates the sun is about to set. Luca pulls up to a stop outside next to the entrance where Valentino is stood with the twins and some of his men looking like he just stepped off the red carpet in a black suit and white dress shirt without a necktie,the top two buttons are undone giving him a rough yet sexy look. His dark locks are styled back,and not a hair is out of place unlike my messy bun that has stray curls on the sides. His intense eyes pops out even more due to dark suit. He looks as beautiful and yet as dangerous as the Mafia Don he is known for. Ares my beautiful boy has a black suit similar to his father's  without a tie no surprise their,he hates ties and I can imagine the drama he caused when presented with one. The two look like clowns standing next to each other with how similar they are. Angel has a Kiddies baby pink evening gown,her hair is pulled back in a French braid looking all mature and proper yet childishly giddy with happiness. Her smiling eyes meet mine as she launches at me then seems to remember her outfit and pouts slightly.

I raise a brow to Valentino in question as I bend to kiss her forehead lovingly.

"Wow Valentino you went all out didn't you?look at these two beauties" Xander states as he picks Angel up who protests rambling about how her uncle is ruining her hair. Of course Xander wouldn't give two shits as he ignores her protests completely.

"Uncle Xander I'm not beautiful, I'm handsome" Ares States as he pouts looking at Xander.

We all chuckle as i drop to Ares height and peak his cheek in greeting. He smiles at me and gives me his famous I-missed-you hugs then walks to his grandfather and uncle to do the same.

Valentino moves up to my side as he lays a gentle kiss to the side of my head. One hand moving to my waist as he gazes at me lovingly as we stare at each other.

"You look stunning" he whispers.
"Thank you,So do you" I compliment as my eyes trail him up and down appreciatively.

"Come,mother wants to officially meet you before we get to the whole party business" he says as he takes my hand to lead me into the house.
Dad and Xander trailing behind with the kids. We reach an open door and a guard bows as we pass through. I have only been here twice before and each time I didn't have time for a tour. The house was beautiful, old, yet it had a modern touch to it. Inside Luciano Valerius sat next to a stunning brunette with sharp brown eyes in a strapless blood red gown,despite her age which I'm guessing could be late forties she looks deceptively younger. She had an air of coldness about her. Like I could literary feel the temperature drop in this place as her gaze met mine,they both stood to greet us and I could see she was about 5'10 ft in height. Luciano went to shake my brother and father's hands as Val steered me towards Valerie Valerius.

"Mother,this is Alvin Devlin my chosen Donna and the twins other father. Alvin my mother Valerie Valerius the reigning godmother of the Valerius clan" he introduces as Valerie stood with a grace I didn't know she could master in that dress.

Her gaze trailed me top to down as she accessed me. I figured she was trying to see if I was good enough for her son.

Well at least physically that is.

Since we can't tell people's character physically I'll humor her.

"Nice to meet you godmother" I bowed slightly in greeting.

She suddenly laughs lightly,smiling beautifully as she opens her arms out to me breaking the ice. "Non of that now honey,come give me a hug" she says,her Italian accent coming out slightly pulling me into a surprisingly strong grip.

"Welcome to the family my boy,call me Valeria" she says as she looks at me at arms length nodding her head approvingly. Gone is the cold queen of the south and in her place is a graceful and kind smiling woman. Her eyes are now warm and as enchanting as her son's.

"You're stunning.
I can see why my son would go for you. You will make a formidable and beautiful Donna." she says eyeing me then turns Valentino scoldingly but you can see the love and adoration she has for him. The two exchange playful bunter then my father and brother are introduced. I tune out the introductions to ward off a gawking Xander whose jaw is practically on the floor as he looks towards the door with a look between stunned and unbelief.

Oh god. Now what!?! It's too early for Xander's pants to start thinking.

Turning i meet Aurial's gaze as he nods at me from the door. He turns to Valentino and announces that the other family heads have arrived.
Valentino comes to my side snaking an arm to my waist as he pulls me to him with what I can only assume as possessiveness then proceeds to guide me out the room towards another section of the mansion. The others following closely behind.

Well seems Xander has found his prey for the night. I chuckle just thinking of the rude awakening my whore of a brother is about to get.

I have a feeling Xander might just bite off a little more than he can chew this time around.
