"Go for one,Alpha, come in." Linc spoke into the mic as he stood with the others in the empty warehouse. The place looking completely clean and wiped of any evidence whatsoever other than if you counted the slightly new lock that had been put on the metal doors.
"His not responding." He cursed as he turned to look at his team mates.
"I think this was a set up from the get go..." Tiff trailed looking around as she spoke aloud what everyone was too chicken to admit.
"Hotspot is a fake, its empty, clearly we either have the wrong place or someone set us up..." Hutch spoke from the barrel he had been leaning on for the past five minutes.
"The real question however is whether Phoenix has been set up or Alpha.... " He trailed as everyone tensed.
"..." Linc opened his mouth to refute the allegations but stopped, his jaw locking into place as he remembered how Alvin has been assigned a different task. Which has never happened before.
"Shit!" Linc turned around as he motioned for the rest of the team to move out while he spoke into the earpiece.
"Requesting a return to base, something is off."
"Permission denied. Objective remains the same. Find the hotspot and eliminate all and any possible threats. The nukes are still live and hot. I repeat, objective remains the same. You have 03:00hrs team Phoenix to secure those nukes. Scanning still shows activity directly where you are. Over and out" the voice spoke dismissing his concerns.
"Maybe his busy..." Hutch trailed as Tiff snorted unladylike rolling her eyes as his hopefulness.
"Let's just get this shit over with and we can worry about alpha after we are done. Let's try this again one last time...' He directed with uncertainty.
"Activate Phoenix" Linc spoke up momentarily shocking the others.
"...Just to be on the safe side." He answered their silent question. Five years ago on a particularly difficult mission in Russia the team had to create a sub division of their own where if any of them was in trouble their most trusted allies would know and help out. Cliff was the tech wizard and would know to send aid if anything happened. The army didn't know of this as rats where everywhere. Hopefully aid would come when needed. The four moved to research the area over again.
"Not that my thoughts particularly matter but I think this is a dead end. We are clearly here to keep from helping alpha or have our brains blown out...of course the latter being highly unlikely seeing we are the only ones here." Riot muttered as the rest glared at him.
"You're right. Your thoughts don't matter" Hutch hissed as he stumbled on something sending him forward as he steadied himself. Cursing aloud he looked down to glare at what almost had him eating dirt but frowned at the suspicious metal that laid on the floor. He moved to push it off but it was too heavy. Looking up he motioned to Linc for help as the rest stood looking around.
"Well at least now we know why we couldn't find anyone..." Tiff trailed as everyone looked to the obvious staircase going down that was hidden by the large metal.
"So...whose first?" Riot asked as everyone glared at him.
"Coward" Hutch mumbled as the rest snickered in amusement.
"Alright cover me" Linc ordered as he stealthily descended down the staircase. At his fifth step a loud boom went out as the whole staircase went down, taking a third of the whole upper floor with it,including team Phoenix.

Valentino Valerius sat in one armchair as he watched over the twins as they played with Phoenix. The large dog was running back and forth as he retrieved the sticks the kids would throw at him. He smiled as the dog licked at Angel causing his princess to laugh.
At least today they were laughing and playing around.
Sighing he looked to the sliding glass doors as his father in law made his way towards him. Leon Devlin despite his age looked just as fit and regal as ever. He was an attractive man and though Valentino would never ever inflate his cousin Luca's already massive ego by telling him that. Val could see where his love got his looks from. Though clearly the old man still didn't come close to the fiery grey eyed beauty that was his husband. He unconsciously twisted the ring on his left finger as his heart silently called for the lover afar.
Val had been spending his days at Alvin's. The kids needed to feel closer to their dad and so he had left his duties to his parents. His mother would spend the day with them as she helped cook and do all the chores around the house. Valerie Valerius wasn't just a pretty face as she had proven time and time again. She had stepped up as mother figure for the kids in Alvin's absence. Luckily the kids had slowly taken a liking to their grandmother.
"They seem to be fairing well today..." Leon snapped him from his thoughts as said man took the opposite seat.
"...mhn" Val mumbled as he wondered where Luca was,in the past three days he had been forced to stay with the two,he had almost gone insane at how sickly sweet and nauseating the couple made him. He wanted to gauge his eyes out just at the sight of the two acting like teenagers. He only hoped Aurial wouldn't show up with Alvin's brother and ran his sanity to the ground. He had enough with one couple, two would make him pull his hair out.
Leon nodded as his gaze settled on the kids. They both settled in comfortable silence.
"Here you are,I have been looking all over for you." De Luca came through the doors in the tinniest short Valentino had ever seen on a man.
"Oh come on..." he groaned as Leon's face flushed pink from obvious embarrassment.
"De Luca go put on some cloths for fuck sakes I have kids here!" Val glared as Luca looked down at what he was wearing and squeaked quickly running back into the house.
Leon just chuckled at his sub knowing that the little devil would have to be punished and reprimanded later.
