Cassidy sat in the back of the big SUV, in between Eric and Austin. Dre was sitting upfront, as they were on their way to the People Magazine interview for Austin.

Dre was turned around in his seat as much as he could be, talking about the questions they were probably going to answer.

"You know they're going to bring up tattoos, and new music. They're also going to bring up Cassidy, especially if she's there." Dre looked down at his phone as he spoke.

"Right, it's all the same bullshit. It'll be fine." Austin's thumb rubbed small circles into Cassidy's thigh. She didn't bother to speak up, but she couldn't help but be curious if he would talk about her. She quickly dismissed those thoughts as she felt the car slowly come to a stop.

Cassidy had been getting used to the behind the scenes aspect of a lot of the things she was used to seeing before Austin came around; award shows, concerts, even flying- but even this one was new, because the interview would be filmed in a studio, as well as published in their magazine.

Cassidy followed behind Austin through the hallways before being lead to his dressing room with Dre, and Eric.

"They'll be in momentarily to get you camera-ready." The nice lady that lead the group through the halls spoke before dismissing herself.

Austin wrapped his arm around Cassidy's shoulders and placed a kiss on the side of her head before sitting down, and pulling his fiancé onto his lap.

"So, are you going to go in-depth with your relationship?" Dre asked as if the moment was planned.

"I don't know, maybe we should wait until after the new year?" Austin replied. Cassidy couldn't help but feel a little disappointed. She was ready to share her exciting news with the world and ready to wear her ring! But, she knew life wasn't that simple anymore. She decided to keep her opinion to herself this time.

It wasn't long before another woman came back and had Austin sit in front of her to get him ready for the camera.

"So Cass, ready to join Posty on tour?" Dre spoke up as he stood up from the small couch.

"I am! I'm sure it's gonna be awesome!"

"Oh hell yeah. We're excited to have you! Maybe the presence of his lady will keep him in check." Dre joked, Austin glared at him through the mirror.

It was small, but she couldn't help but wonder if Dre has a hidden meaning behind his words, or if it was just her anxiety again.

Before she knew it, they were all heading out to the studio to watch the interview.

Austin sat down in the chair next to a beautiful brunette reporter for the magazine. Her name was Mindy.

She watched the interview unfold. Starting with the generic questions first, mainly focusing on his new album and the inspiration behind it. They also spent some time talking about being on tour.

"Okay okay, enough of the industry stuff. You ready for the holidays?" Mindy asked.

"Yeah, we're almost there." Austin smiled. "Just looking forward to spending the last little bit of time with my family before tour starts back up."

"Are you going back to Texas?"

"Nah, I'm pretty sure my parents are all coming out here this time around. We flew out to them for thanksgiving."

"Ahh. You and your lovely girlfriend, who I see has made a special appearance this afternoon!" Mindy smiled and waved to Cassidy, who returned the greeting.

"I just want to say, that you guys are seriously so cute together. I love seeing your posts." Mindy continued.

"Thank you so much! She's a pretty special lady, and look at her, she's an absolute smoke show." Cassidy was fully red in the face at this point. She couldn't hide if she wanted to, but she also couldn't help the ridiculous smile on her face.

"Why don't you come join us for a second babe!" Austin held his hand out and waved Cassidy over, who instantly rejected his offer.

"Nooo come on, just for a second!" Cassidy rolled her eyes and very reluctantly walked out to her fiancé, who pulled her to his lap. A producer handed her a wired mic as she passed by.

"It's lovely to meet you, Cassidy! You're a lucky lady huh?" Mindy teased.

"Oh, I'm the luckiest! " Cassidy teased. "But honestly, I am. I'm very lucky. Austin is the best. He's my best friend." Austin squeezed Cassidy's hand gently.

"Now, rumor has it, your little brother lives with you guys out here?"

"Yep. He'll be 18 soon. He's the best too. He and Austin are so funny when they're together." Cassidy smiled back at Mindy.

"Any big plans for you guys?"

"Well," Austin glanced at Dre, who gave him a nod. "We'll be getting married eventually. I don't know when, as we haven't even talked about a date. But, yeah. I got this one locked down." Austin grinned.

Cassidy was shocked. She tensed up at his words, and Austin felt it. He rubbed his hand down her arms gently and she smiled.

"Well awesome! That is definitely some big news! I guess you'll be hearing "congratulations" a lot more now huh?" Mindy joked, "wow that was bad."

"Here babe. You can put this on," Austin reached into his pocket and pulled her ring out. She felt like she could cry.

"For the record, we've been engaged since October. When we were in London. I've just been hiding the ring." Cassidy grinned.

"Well dang, you guys did a fantastic job!" Mindy grinned, "okay I've gotta see!" Cassidy extended her hand so she could get a better look. She knew her life was about to change even more so. Before, she was just Post Malone's girlfriend. Now, she's the future Mrs. Post, and the world was about to know it.

All in all, she was excited.

A/n: hi I had this chapter done but hated it so I had to completely re-write it. 🙃
