We decided to go back to our Condo unit for some reasons. Hindi pa rin ako kinakausap ni kuya, hanggang ngayon ay galit pa rin siya sa akin dahil nalaman niya na kami na ni Twixx. I couldn’t blame him.
I know that I made him angry because he cares for me. For the first time in my life, having an angry brother is the worst thing happened to me.
“Kuya…”I’m not giving up on him.
“Gusto mo sumama sa akin bumili ng pizza?”I know that he can’t say no to pizza, but I was wrong. He didn’t react.
“Should I take that silence as yes?”I asked again, but it feels like I’m just talking to the air. He was busy reading provisions and in the same time ignoring me.
“Tara, Ericka. Ako na lang ang sasama sa iyo”Stephen said as he was holding the door knob. Waiting for me to go out.
Nauna akong lumabas ng unit habang nakasunod naman sa akin si Stepehen. “I hate when he’s ignoring me… The last time we fight was when we we’re ten, dahil sa ice cream. He really grew up so fast. Pakiramdam ko hindi na siya iyong kuya ko.”
I was still walking and didn’t wait for Stephen because I know that he’s still following me.
“I know that it’s my fault. I know that he cares for me. I know that he’s angry because of Twixx. But I need him to understand that I’m not a kid anymore, that I know how to handle my shits in my life..."
"He taught me how to be an independent woman. But now that I’m standing on my own foot, he’s angry. Urgh. I didn’t know how to apologize to him because he’s always ignoring me”
“I’m sorry”I couldn’t move when I heard my brother’s voice from the back.
“Hey, I’m apologizing na nga, ‘di ba?”I looked back at him while my eyes are filled with tears.
“Sorry”I cried while hugging my brother. “I really hate arguing with you”
“Stop being a cry baby, pwede?”he chuckled while rubbing his hands on my back.
“I trust you, Eri. I’m just scared that his family might hurt you. I don’t wanna lose you. I don’t wanna lose my little stubborn sister”
“Tsss. You’re always making me cry!”I wiped my tears as we entered the elevator.
“Iiyak ka na lang ba o kakain na tayo?”I rolled my eyes when we walked out of the elevator.
We ordered a lot of foods for take-out. While waiting kuya is explaining why he’s protecting me, para akong nagseseminar. Gusto pa niya akong ienroll sa self-defense class for my safety daw.
Syempre tumangi ako, baka mamaya doon pa ako mabalian ng buto. Atsaka hindi naman ako umaalis na ako lang mag-isa.
“Tell Twixx na dito na siya kumain ng dinner”kuya said and I saw Twixx standing on the kitchen.
“I’m here, Lukas”
Hindi makapaniwala si kuya na nandito na si Twixx tapos may dala pa siya na mga pagkain. Mukhang pinag-grocery niya pa kami ngayong araw kasi nakita ko na puno ng pagkain iyong ref at mga cabinet namin sa kusina.
“I don’t want you to starve”he said then he gave me some biscuits. “I’ll buy food for tomorrow”
“You don’t need to do that…”
“I said I don’t want you to starve”he just chuckled.
“Sina Stephen?”I asked kuya because I haven’t seen them inside the unit.
