Dito ko hinihintay si Twixx sa restaurant nila. Meron lang daw kasi siyang ipapasa na requirements sa Dean’s office at pagkatapos ay dito na kami magkikita na dawa. Habang nag-aantay ako ay umorder ako ng paborito ni Twixx na dumplings, habang nagtatagal ay nagugustuhan ko na rin ito.
“Ericka…”
Nagulat ako nang umupo sa tapat ko iyong mommy ni Twixx. I didn’t expect that she will show up here.
“Tita---”
“I didn’t came here for Twixx… I’m here to talk to you”she leaned her back on the chair while her arms are crossed.
“I saw that my son is spending most of his money on you”I thought we’re good.
Parang hindi siya iyong mommy ni Twixx na nakilala ko sa bahay nila.
“You’re not good for him”
“Tita---”
“Stop calling me tita, Ericka. Hindi naman kita pamangkin…”hindi ko alam kung bakit galit na galit siya sa akin ngayon. Wala naman akong ginagawa sa kanya o sa anak niya na masama.
“Did you know how much money he spent for your one year anniversary? He left us for you. Hindi ka ba naguguilty na tinalikuran niya ang pamilya niya ng dahil sa ‘yo?”my lips parted.
“You’re not worth it for his love, Ericka”
Nasasaktan ako sa sinasabi sa akin ng mommy ni Twixx, pero pinipigilan ko pa rin na huwag umiyak. Umiwas ako sa kanya ng tingin.
“I know that you want to become a doctor. I know that you still want to live---”
“Are you threatening me?”I asked her. She smirked before answering my question for her.
“I’m not threatening you, Ericka…”she answered. “But I can I be your greatest threat”
Papatayin din ba nila ako katulad ng ginawa nila sa iba? Dapat ba ako matakot?
“I can give you a lot of money… Just stay away from my son”
“I don’t need your money”I said.
Hindi ko kailangan kahit piso na mula sa kanila. Alam ko na iyong pera na ginamit ni Twixx ay pera niya iyon. Pinaghirapan niya iyon. Galing iyon sa share niya sa restaurant na ito.
“I don’t think that I need you in our lives, Ericka”
Silence.
“I can make your life miserable, Ericka”my heart trembled. “Kaya habang may pasensya pa ako, lumayo ka na sa anak ko”
“I’d rather have a miserable life with Twixx than to spend a happy life with someone else”I replied.
“This isn’t a fairytale, Ericka. There are no such things as prince charming. Hindi prince charming ang anak ko na kaya kang protektahan”she’s grinning while saying those words to me.
“He’s from a family who could kill anyone. What makes you think that he’s different from us?”she admit everything.
Sinabi niya na kaya nilang pumatay. Tama si Stephen. Totoo nga iyong sinabi sa akin ni Stephen. Iyong mga murder case. Iyong mga accusations sa pamilya ni Twixx, lahat pala iyon totoo.
“What if he’s not protecting you, Ericka? What if this is all a bait and I am for fucking fairy god-mother who’s trying to save you?”
Hindi ko alam kung dapat ba akong maniwala sa kanya o hindi. Hindi ko alam kung sino ang papakinggan ko. Paano kung tama siya? Pero paano kung mali siya? Paano kung si Twixx ang pumoprotekta sa akin dahil gusto ako saktan ng pamilya niya?
