Chapter 13

A few intense weeks had past since the dramatic events proceeding the awards ceremony in which Lauren was left hospitalised for a strenuous 5 days, her injuries although painful didn't turn out to be anything more than inconvenient with a few stitches just below her hairline and an almost fully healed broken nose

She'd been ordered by a doctor to reluctantly take a month off from her duties as head CEO which had left her spending a lot of quality time babysitting her favourite sister in law, their bond growing closer by the day while Camila remained in office taking over her wife's duties

Much to everyone's surprise Lauren didn't proceed in pressing charges against her mother, she didn't even report it to the cops as much as she had wanted to, Camila and her father had pressed the issue on more than one occasion but the woman was adamant this be left to bury itself in the dirt

It was no shock however that even after the incident both Lauren and Camila still attend their well thought out holiday totalling another month away from reality, something they both very much needed to do, they spent nights sitting in front of the stars drinking until they were tipsy enough to laugh at the things that weren't even funny.. Lauren always laughed even when Camila really didn't deserve one...

They return home peaceful and content greeting their entire family with open arms as they settle down for the event they had all been waiting for, some more than others

Christmas

"Baby I can't believe you decorate like this! It's like a Santa's grotto!"

Sinu gasp as she drag in the packed suitcase from her home followed by Mike carrying a giggling Sofi while Chris trailed in behind smiling into Lauren's embrace after having missed her face around the office

"I wanted it to be magical what can I say!"

Lauren respond as she greet her guests for the weekend, the woman had invited the entire family over to spend the holiday, she'd always spent Christmas alone and this year she was lucky enough to have a full dynamic to surround her..

"Well baby it is beautiful! Thank you for having us!"

Sinu reply dragging the girl into a hug before an excited Sofi ran in to break away her favourite woman's attention, Lauren had more than hyped her up about the whole Santa thing and it was the only thing she was intent on talking about, they sat one evening writing a two page long list to the fat man mainly consisting shockingly of things she wanted Santa to bring to mommy and Mila.. it took a lot for the girl to realise she deserved some gifts too..

"Is he coming tonight? Like when we go to sleep?"

She panted dragging down on the elders shirt sitting around her waist before Lauren sank down to greet at her height

"Yeah baby but when we're all sleeping! He'll come in and be super quiet so that when we wake up in the morning that tree over there is filled with presents!"

The girls eyes widen with a joyous glint as she jump up and down unable to contain the warm feeling swarming her stomach before Camila walk over to join, she ran her fingertips through the thick locks of hair as her sister ran in against her stomach for a passionate cuddle

"Hey mami be careful!"

Lauren spoke as Camila jump back slightly with a giggle, the girl didn't care.. she just wanted Santa ... it only took a minute for the small girl to leave running around to investigate the many decorations that perfectly lay across the house.. it really was like a Christmas wonderland..
