Yori didn't like being here. He didn't like it at all. The club itself was fine, that wasn't the problem whatsoever. Being here with Azami (and Shinsou, so they'd actually get in) also wasn't the problem, although it was much more concerning to Yori than being at the club on his own.
The problem was that they were in the backroom, wordlessly sitting around, as their boss (or whoever he was) was smoking a big, fat cigar. He had offered both of them one (Shinsou was outside, because he wanted as little to do with this as possible). Azami had shamelessly taken one, while Yori was way too nervous to try it. It was like Azami and the boss knew what was going to happen and it was only Yori who had no fucking clue whatsoever. He felt like shit.
"So... Yori, right?" the boss then said, looking at him and smiling. As if he meant well. Yori gulped and nodded. He was going to get shot, wasn't he? His feet stuck in a cement block and thrown into a river, right?
"Yes, Azami here has already told me of your... predicament. Now I understand that it can be tough to pressure your friends for money and all. And it's not easy for everyone to pay up. And we all know that this is a one time slip-up, that won't happen again, right?" the boss said.
"O-of course not... I'll get the money. I-I promise. A-and I'm really sorry about this, I... I really am." Yori said, carefully glancing over at Azami who was stubbing her cigar. It was crazy how her demeanor could change. Getting into the club she looked like she was out to party and get laid in her little black dress, but right now? If she murdered him right now for money, he wouldn't be surprised.
"You have some good manners, I'll give you that. It's important for the young folk to have some manners. I think I like you. But I gotta make sure you don't do something like that again, right? Not paying is unreliable. And I don't like unreliable people." he muttered and then leaned over to one of his goons, whispering something to him. Yori got really nervous right about now.
"A-Azami, what's going on?" he asked quietly. She just glared at him and shushed him sharply. A backdoor was opened and they brought in some guy who looked like he was absolutely terrified. His mouth was taped with duct tape and his hands were taped together behind his back. This looked like a scene straight out of some gangster movie and Yori just wanted to get up and run as far away as possible. But Azami's death glare had him absolutely frozen.
"See, Yori, this man here - he's unreliable. So we gotta teach him a lesson, right? Go and watch what happens to unreliable people." the boss said, as he took another drag from his cigar, puffing out the smoke. Yori gulped, his heart beating fast and his breath becoming irregular. He thought he was about to pass out from the fear that seemed to drown him completely.
"Do it, boys." the boss said to the two people holding the man. He was probably trying to scream, judging from the choked out noises that were muffled by the duct tape. Yori watched in horror as they cut the tape that bound his hands and as one of them slowly twisted his arm behind his back, further and further as his muffled screams became louder and louder. And he still kept going.
Yori glanced over at Azami and the boss, who were staring at the scene in front of them almost emotionlessly. How could they be like that? Weren't they fucking terrified? In that moment the boss turned his head and saw him glancing over at him. Yori's breath hitched audibly.
