[Awakening]
___
Narancia may not know, but the boy played a bigger part in (Y/n)'s life than he may have thought. Before Camp Enigma, (Y/n) didn't have anyone that she could call a friend besides the person that sat next to her in two of her classes. She never actively sought out any either which left her stuck with nobody and she hadn't thought anything of it until she reached high school. Everyone's worst nightmare if you don't have any friends.
The girl was glad that she met someone like Narancia Ghirga at the bus stop because through him she was able to meet the wonderful people of the Joestar family and their friends. Without them, camp would've been horrible and she'd be alone to suffer through the teenage angst that would swallow her the entire time she was there. Between missing her parents and being alone, she didn't know what would make her go crazy first.
But if she hadn't saved him then Narancia and the other Stand Users wouldn't have had this happen to them. She wouldn't have Genesis and she wouldn't have had to go up against Diavolo and Yoshikage. (Y/n) would've been free from any knowledge of the arrow and mask and any other ancient artifact.
(Y/n) wrapped her arms around Joseph's waist after he hadn't relented in letting her go, her head resting on his shoulder as she let her hands rest on his upper back. The brown haired teen smiled and couldn't help the blush that came to his cheeks at how good it felt to finally hug her. But it dropped when he heard her breathing pick up and her body began to shake in his arms.
"Hey, (Y/n), what's wrong? Did I hurt you?" Joseph questioned worriedly while she struggled to keep in the tears that were pent up from the several times that she wanted to cry in the past few days. It didn't quite hit her hard enough that the situation they were in was life-threatening, she was too busy trying to be a normal teenager and attempting to brush it off because her Stand was strong enough to save her. It wasn't until she seen her wounds from her fight with Kira did she fully realize that this wasn't just another fight between teenagers.
He pulled away from the hug, although he didn't want to, and his eyes widened slightly when he seen (Y/n)'s lips trembling and her eyes blinking rapidly to get rid of the tears invading her sight. "(Y/n)?" He breathed out and the girl quickly wiped away a tear with her finger before it could go down her cheek.
"I'm just so happy that you're my friend, all of you. I never had any before." Her voice shook, it was barely noticeable but Joseph caught it. She tried to smile but it didn't quite reach her eyes and she looked down at her blanket when she seen that he had noticed. "I don't want to feel like that again, even if I have to go to school without you guys, I don't want to feel alone."
Joseph moved closer, their knees touching, and he grabbed her hands, "You won't ever feel like that again, (Y/n). My family and I, we're happy that we have you as a friend too." He reassured making (Y/n) nod and squeeze his fingers to tell him that she understood. "You're stuck with us whether you want to be or not." He joked and she chuckled, letting Joseph reach up and wipe away the tears beneath her eye.
(Y/n) felt her skin heat up under his finger and she blushed, her heart racing when she seen that Joseph's cheeks were tinted red as well. She didn't know why this was affecting her like this but she didn't have the capacity to think about it at the moment. Joseph's heart was going to beat out of his chest if he didn't calm down, his eyes too focused on the blush on (Y/n)'s face and the way that she kept looking away.
Without thinking, he let his hand cup the side of her face and she swallowed thickly when she felt it. (Y/n) took a deep breath while Joseph leaned down, resting his forehead against hers and smiling when her eyes connected with his. "I've never gotten this far." He muttered making her nod, she certainly hadn't either when she could barely interact with people her age. "I haven't either, don't worry." She whispered before placing her free hand on his shoulder to keep herself focused on the teen that was so close to her.
